How Do Mexican Plastic Surgeons Seem to Give Such Hour-glass Figures with Their Tt?

I have been stalking this sight for several months & notice that the women that leave for "mommy makeovers" in Mexico seem to come back with very curvy figures after tt. I haven't noticed the equivalent from the states. Is there a technique they use that is different?

Thank you for your question. An hour glass figure after tummy tuck depends on a number of factors including preop body type, the amount of intra-adbominal fat, the type of plication of the muscles and the amount and areas where liposuction is performed. Overseas there was an early acceptance of combining liposuction with a tummy tuck which gives you better waiste definition and body contouring.  That has changed in the US recently.  There are also some techniques that are performed overseas that are more agressive but do carry additional risk.  Agressive abdominal muscle dissection and plication can improve waist definition but comes with a higher risk of complications.  Overseas rib resection to improve waist definition is also performed. While some of the results are impressive, most people would find this an extremely drastic step to take to improve cosmetic contour.  There are excellent Plastic Surgeons delivering excellent body contouring results abroad and right her in the U.S.  Do some more research and be prudent. All the best.

Tummy tuck by itself will not create an hourglass figure. It will create a flat stomach. Liposuction can produce the amazing results you suggest. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of liposuction procedures and tummy tucks each year. 	No it's not a special 'magic' Mexocan technique .

	You are more likely to get an hour-glass result with a low body weight , a strong muscle wall repair and with additional liposuction to the sides of the abdomen and the flanks where indicated .

	A tummy tuck is like having a suit made . The tailor can only cut the suit as slim as you are . If you have a low body weight all of the above manoeuvres will accentuate your slim waist by making the skin and muscle wall repair as snug as possible .

	So get to your best weight before surgery and you will have a safer procedure and a better cosmetic result .

There are a number of talented plastic surgeons in latin america and around the world, and all use pretty much the same techniques. They regularly participate in plastic surgery conferences in the U.S. and plastic surgeons from the states also attend international conferences such as ISAPS (see link below) to learn from each other. One other thing that seems to be universal is exaggerated claims of special techniques or expertise so don't believe everything you see.

complication rates are significantly higher when you combine high volume liposuction with tummy tucks simultaneously. going for broke is not always best but staging the procedures provides equal end points with the added safety

There are no proprietary techniques unique to an abdominoplasty. The operative procedure is generally very straight forward consisting in removing and contouring excess skin, tightening of the anterior abdominal fasica and liposuctioning of the posterior hips and flanks. The only variation may be in how aggressive and the degree of liposuction. Some caution must be taken to avoid overliposuction. This can lead to complications such as wound healing problems.

Techniques of tummy tucks and body contouring are routinely discussed and shared by board certified plastic surgeons at meetings  of organizations like the American Society for Aesthetic plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery  (ISAPS). While there are excellent plastic surgeons in many countries, there are no specific secret techniques that are unique to Mexican plastic surgeons.

	The results depend on your particular anatomy, the extent of tightening of the underlying abdominal musculature, and sculpting with liposuction. Be wary of promised results or exaggerated claims, no matter if the surgeon is from another country or from the U.S.
