I had juvederm injected in the hollow of my eyes for the first time 2 days ago. A have a little lump (size of a pimple) under the right eye and about an inch long discoloration above that lump. My left eye is fine. My dr has asked me to massage the lump gently. I'm really scared. This is the first time I had it done to see what the eyes would look like if I got a fat transfer done in that area. Please help me :(
Answer: I think your fine, probably a bruise
Looks to me like you have nothing more than a bruise, which will also cause a little swelling. A Tyndall effect happens when the filler is too close to the surface causing the blue wavelength spectrum of light to cause a light blue hue, like the color of blue eyes. Looks like you are purple, ie. bruise. Give it a couple of weeks to resolve and it might get a little worse before it gets better. Make sure that you wear sunscreen all the time as the inflammation from the bruise may cause some hyperpigmentation which may take longer to go away than the bruise itself. Arnica and Vit K probably will not help, but they won't hurt.

Answer: Tyndall Effect: Too Early to Tell Just Yet
Midlife Mom....Take a deep breath...You will be ok. It is too early just yet to tell if this Juvederm injection will cause the Tyndall effect. Right now from your photograph it appears as if the discoloration may simply be " black and blue." Give it at least tow weeks for the swelling to resolve. In the worst case scenario the doctor can make the filler dissolve with hyaluronidase. Sit tight breathe easy.

Answer: Bruising following Juvederm under the eyes
Looking at your photos, it appears you just have some bruising. This should resolve over the next 1-2 weeks. I would recommend communicating any concerns to your surgeon, as they know the extent of your treatment. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: Tyndall Effect vs a bruise
In the first week after a hyaluronic injection in the tear trough it can be difficult to tell if it is a bruise or Tyndall effect. In your case it appears to be a bruise. You can use warm compresses and gentle massage to help it resolve.

Answer: Tyndall Effect Under Eye?
Hi MLM. By the looks of things, it is more likely a bruise than the Tyndall effect. Hard to tell until after a week or two so if you are still concerned at 7-14 days, then schedule a checkup with your injector. If it is the Tyndall effect, your injector can easily reverse it with hyaluronidase injections. Good luck.
