What is the price of a Neck Lift and can it be done in-office?

The contributing factors to the #cost of a #neck lift include the surgeon’s fee, facility fee, medication cost and the anesthesia fee. A neck lift is not a singular procedure with a singular #method, but rather is an umbrella term describing a large range of operations with varying #incisions and skin-lifting #techniques, which have been developed and improved upon over the years.  Your board certified plastic surgeon will be familiar will be able to pair you with your perfect match of surgical approach based on your skin type and desired results.  The type of neck lift incision will depend upon your gender, your hairline and preferred hairstyles, any scars from previous surgeries, and a variety of other factors.  As a general rule, a #neck lift #incision starts right in front of or within the hairline on the temple, follows the curve of the front of the ear, travels underneath the earlobe, and ends at the hairline behind the ear.  There are also shorter #scar techniques preferred by many patients, which do not have incisions in the hairline.  Some patients who wish to have liposuction or tightening of their neck will need an additional incision under their #chin, which can be hidden in a natural skin fold.It's best to begin by consulting with a surgeon in-person. The presence of banding down the front of the #neck, and, amount of excess skin and condition of your skin are among some factors which determine what treatments will best rejuvenate your neck .  During your initial examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results.

A neck lift can absolutely be performed under local anesthesia.  At my practice, I perform a lift procedure that requires only local anesthesia. This lift is recommended for patients who are showing earlier signs of jowling and excess skin, but is not recommended if you have significant jowls or skin laxity. Without seeing you in person, it’s impossible to say if you would benefit from a mini-lift under local anesthesia or if a deeper face or neck lift would be better.  The average total cost for neck lift under local anesthesia is $7500 - $9500.  
After a neck lift under local anesthesia, you will have some downtime, but only directly after the surgery and it shouldn't last more than a week or two. The neck lift itself will last about 10 years.  Most of the bruising should subside after the first week and I recommend that patients wait a full two weeks before any air travel.

Obviously, the cost varies from region to region, depending on whether you do it under local or general anesthesia. A necklift is one of those procedures that can be quite comfortably done in an office based setting under local anesthesia, with or without oral or IV sedation. This tends to save substantially on cost, and I feel that overall, it has a higher safety margin as compared to doing under general anesthesia or IV sedation.

The cost of the neck lift depends of several factors. One to the most important factors is the location of the surgeon. The cost of neck lift is higher in New York City ( manhattan) than in Alaska.The cost of a neck lift also varies depending if the procedure involves correction of the jaw line and jowls ( with a lower face lift or liposuction alone).In muy practice, all the neck lifts are performed under local anesthesia without any pain or discomfort in my office ( I do have a local anesthesia operating room)
