What is the price of a Neck Lift and can it be done in-office?

The contributing factors to the #cost of a #neck lift include the surgeon’s fee, facility fee, medication cost and the anesthesia fee. A neck lift is not a singular procedure with a singular #method, but rather is an umbrella term describing a large range of operations with varying #incisions and skin-lifting #techniques, which have been developed and improved upon over the years.  Your board certified plastic surgeon will be familiar will be able to pair you with your perfect match of surgical approach based on your skin type and desired results.  The type of neck lift incision will depend upon your gender, your hairline and preferred hairstyles, any scars from previous surgeries, and a variety of other factors.  As a general rule, a #neck lift #incision starts right in front of or within the hairline on the temple, follows the curve of the front of the ear, travels underneath the earlobe, and ends at the hairline behind the ear.  There are also shorter #scar techniques preferred by many patients, which do not have incisions in the hairline.  Some patients who wish to have liposuction or tightening of their neck will need an additional incision under their #chin, which can be hidden in a natural skin fold.It's best to begin by consulting with a surgeon in-person. The presence of banding down the front of the #neck, and, amount of excess skin and condition of your skin are among some factors which determine what treatments will best rejuvenate your neck .  During your initial examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results.

A neck lift can absolutely be performed under local anesthesia.  At my practice, I perform a lift procedure that requires only local anesthesia. This lift is recommended for patients who are showing earlier signs of jowling and excess skin, but is not recommended if you have significant jowls or skin laxity. Without seeing you in person, it’s impossible to say if you would benefit from a mini-lift under local anesthesia or if a deeper face or neck lift would be better.  The average total cost for neck lift under local anesthesia is $7500 - $9500.  
After a neck lift under local anesthesia, you will have some downtime, but only directly after the surgery and it shouldn't last more than a week or two. The neck lift itself will last about 10 years.  Most of the bruising should subside after the first week and I recommend that patients wait a full two weeks before any air travel.

Obviously, the cost varies from region to region, depending on whether you do it under local or general anesthesia. A necklift is one of those procedures that can be quite comfortably done in an office based setting under local anesthesia, with or without oral or IV sedation. This tends to save substantially on cost, and I feel that overall, it has a higher safety margin as compared to doing under general anesthesia or IV sedation.

The cost of the neck lift depends of several factors. One to the most important factors is the location of the surgeon. The cost of neck lift is higher in New York City ( manhattan) than in Alaska.The cost of a neck lift also varies depending if the procedure involves correction of the jaw line and jowls ( with a lower face lift or liposuction alone).In muy practice, all the neck lifts are performed under local anesthesia without any pain or discomfort in my office ( I do have a local anesthesia operating room)

Depending of the presentation and severity of neck deformity patient may need liposuction, neck muscles tightening or both. All of this can be done in office based surgery center in local anesthesia. Possibly a small amount of pain and sedation agents can be given before surgery to relax patient and decrease the discomfort of local anesthetic injection.Prices will differ from area to area and, in particular, from surgeon to surgeon.  Hi, I have performed facelifts  and neck lifts for over 30 years and have performed many minimally, invasive type facelifts.  Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation and determine whether or not you are a candidate for a neck lift alone or would need to include some type of SMAS facelift in order to avoid tissue pleats in front of the earlobes (occurs when a neck lift alone is done when "jowls" are present in the face).  A formal neck lift uses a curved incision around the front (explained later) of the ear that continues in the crease behind the ear and then 3 inches into the posterior hairline.  The tissue is dissected from that point all the way across the entire neck to the same position on the other side of the head in a dissection that is as long vertically as the entire neck.  The Platysma muscles are tightened using a curved incision under the chin and each side is pulled upward and back again being tightened at a line behind each ear (under the tissues).  Since the skin flap pull is up and back, this will pick up any tissue laxity along the jaw line or "jowls" which must be dissected and flattened out using a lower facelift (incision around the front of the ears).  If this isn't done, pleats of excess skin will appear below each ear.
This is an extensive surgery taking 4 1/2 to 5 hours with large incisions, possible hair loss and months of recovery.  In my experience, most men opt not to have the telltale signs of this type of surgery since they can't cover them with long hair.
 Following the beauty principles that I have formulated over the past 30 years,  women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.
 "Jowls” are sagging facial tissues and an indication for some form of a SMAS facelift.  The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured (not merely folded or suspended with threads or sutures that will not last).  The excess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed.

I combine facial shaping with every facelift procedure.  When jowls are present, these should be done in concert and not alone or separately in order to create a naturally, more attractive face.
