Having a hard time getting responses from doctors. I'm looking to get an FUE soon and attached are my photos, current, 1.5 years ago and my goal photos, short and longer. Looking forward to your feedback and getting this done soon.

Hair transplantation is a big decision so it is important to do your 'due diligence'. The best strategy is to meet with different physicians who offer the range of hair transplant and FUE options (Neograft, ARTAS, etc).  Make sure you have the opportunity to have a consultation with a physician as opposed to a 'consultant' who does not perform the procedure.  Pick the physician who has the expertise but also who you feel most comfortable with. -Dr. Keaney

The first thing that a hair transplant candidate must understand is that there are very few surgeons in the world that do state of the art operations. Thus, one should not limit the area of research to the close surrounding, but they should even look all around the world. It is a big decision that will decide ones look for the rest of his life. Besides, hair transplant prices are very different at different locations in the world. It may be possible fly over the other side of the world and get an excellent transplant while paying much less.

You can search the various hair restoration society pages and those of the board certified dermatology and plastic surgery pages as they have the most members.  The best is hard to judge so you have to go in yourselve and meet them. If you cant reach them, move on to the next person.  You can also check on the pages of the makers of FUE devices.

There are many parts to hair transplant one Being the harvesting using FUE technique.  just as important as harvesting of the grafts it is the design, preparation of recipient area, making the sites, preparation of the grafts under the microscope and placement of the grafts that are also very important. It is important to ask for a customized plan that fits your need. A specialized  hair transplant doctor should have  full time surgical staff to help him with all aspects of the hair transplant.  You should not make your decision based on location of the doctor, but you have to make sure that the doctor and the staff have formal training, experience and have highly developed surgical skills and qualifications to do the hair transplant. If they are not doing hair transplant on full time basis, then you may not be getting the best quality of care for your hair transplant.
