IMF tightening - Is this going to help lift that breast or will it continue to sag? (photos)

In my opinion, and given your photo and description, I certainly would not touch the IMF. This fold is an important anatomic fixation point that anchors in large part the position of the implant. Although there may be slight variation in the fixation on the rib form side to side, this is usually of no consequence. The distance from the inferior areolar border to IMF, however, may be different from side to side, but this, too, I would not touch with any sort of 'tuck'. Hope this helps.

determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.

A larger implant does not change the fact that a patient needs a lift. A larger implant is imply just filling out the soft tissue envelope temporarily to make it seem that the ptotic breast has been adequately addressed. I recommend finding a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in aesthetic breast surgery (ideally completion of a fellowship accredited by the Aesthetic Society).

Your breasts are low on the chest wall. The added weight of implants will cause the breasts to descend even further. I recommend a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed if additional volume is desired.

It appears that larger breast will need lift and small reduction. After this augmentation with same size implants would be correct procedure. Hope this helps.

Hello, the recommendation from your surgeon, who evaluated you in a consultation, reviewed your case, assessed your tissues, being a certified plastic surgeon, is a very good option, if you feel insecure with your current surgeon, and you do not feel confident in him , your best option would be to look for another surgeon

A straightforward breast augmentation with 375 c implants would work just fine. I don’t think you need a lift or any other fancy bells and whistles

Thank you for your question and photo. An examination in person would be required to properly evaluate you and provide you with a specific recommendation. That said, the “lift“ you will derive is from you augmentation. Because you have some asymmetry (which is normal and common), it is possible to potentially offset that asymmetry with different implants, however if your plastic surgeon determined that the distance from your nipple to fold is longer in one side and plans to shorten that distance to make them more equal, that is his or her determination after examining you. If you have confidence in your surgeon, trust his or her judgement and recommendations. If you have concerns or reservations you can always get a second opinion. Tucking the fold may accent the difference between your two nipples. I would suggest a lift for the lower side instead.
