Most patients are standing upright after about one week, but this varies depending on how tight the abdominal closure is performed.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
If you have had a full abdominoplasty with muscle repair, in most cases it will be about 7 to 10 days before you can stand in a more upright position. Some of this is also dependent upon how tightly your skin was pulled. Be careful during the first couple of weeks and check in with your surgeon if you are unsure.
Recovery is unique to each patient. Depending on the individual and the degree of abdominal repair required patients can often stand erect 7-14 days after surgery. Sometimes this "hunched" position can cause discomfort for the lower back. Having a partner massage the area with a tennis ball can bring relief.
Thank you for reaching out! This will definitely vary from patient to patient, but on average about 7 days. Some patients are almost upright at day 5 and some are not there until around day 10. Best of luck! Dr. Kachenmeister
Thanks for the great question. I've found that patients are typically able to walk more upright after about 7-10 days. A lot of the ability to stand have to do with how tight you muscles and skin are closed. Most patients find that each day after surgery generally gets a little bit better. It's always best to listen to you body and to not over do it. Best of luck!~Dr. Sieber
To some extent it will depend both on the basic type of Tummy Tuck and also on individual variations of closure techniques the surgeon uses. In our practice the average time is 7-14 days.
Thank you for the question and picture. You need to contact your operating plastic surgeon and text or email photos so they can evaluate and advise you. Good Luck
