Chin implant removal - Is shifted implant dangerous?
Starfish91Jul 1, 2025
Hello, so I got a chin implant done last November of 2024. I was super careful about not bending over, as I had assistance from my mother. I wasn’t turning my head sideways either. During the second week I could feel the implant more on my right side below lip. I contacted my surgeon who is in Mexico as I am in CA and he said that it was normal, and to wait for the swelling to subside. I was like okay. A month later more of the swelling went away and now I could feel the implant inside my mouth by touching it with my fingers. I don’t see it physically of course but I feel the bump. I told my surgeon and he said that jt was fine as long as I couldn’t “physically see” the implant. He also said that it was “rare” but that the implant migrated, and he doesn’t know why. I told him I was super careful and he said it was weird & left it at that. I wasn’t happy with that response. I had the implant inserted through the inside of my mouth. I have pain when I sleep laying on the right side of my face where the implant is at. Is having it migrated dangerous? I really want to get it removed due to the pain and possibly consider getting it redone here in CA at a later time. * and from the outside of my face my chin looks fine, no bump. It’s only felt on the inside of my mouth.
