Swelling and bruising can continue for several weeks after eyelid surgery. You should keep your head elevated while resting to reduce swelling. Also, you can start wearing makeup in order to cover any bruising. If you are still concerned after a couple of weeks, consult with your physician.
Very good question. Everyone heals differently, and so what is normal for one may not be normal for another. With that being said it is perfectly normal to have bruising and swelling 2 weeks after lower eyelid surgery. The lower lids resolve a bit slower than the upper lids, especially if the surgery is approached through a skin incision (which it looks like it may have been from your photos).
Thank you for your question. It is normal to have bruising after blepharoplasty, and it does appear to be resolving. There are several things you can do to help heal faster. Arnica gel applied to the area helps as does eating pineapple. In the meantime you can use make up to cover up the bruising. I know it is not healing as fast as you like but hang in there.
It's not unusual to still have some swelling and even bruising 2 wks post-op from eyelid surgery, especially in the lower eyelids. The circulation around the lower eyelids does not drain inferiorly down the cheek. It drains upwards via the central circulation by way of the nose. Warm (not hot) packs can increase the circulation to help the eyelid bruising resolve quicker. Your bruises are mild enough at this point, that it should be easily camouflaged with makeup. Arnica gel, fresh pineapple orally, and even mild vinegar soaks reportedly help the bruising. The scar on your left eye is amenable to gentle massage and a scar gel to soften the scar quicker. Time is your best friend at this point. If it doesn't resolve soon, a visit to your surgeon may be in order. John Standefer MD.
Eyelid asymmetry is not uncommon. It can be due to brow position, more eyelid skin on one side, structure of the bones around the eyeball or even problems with the primary muscle that elevates the upper eyelid. Corrective surgery can be done while preserving your monolids. A thorough examination...
Healing is a continuum, and swelling continues to settle over several weeks. If the procedure was recent, your concerns may improve with time. If you do not notice improvement, consult with your surgeon as injections may be an option to help with persistent inflammation."This answer...
Most people are asymmetric if you look closely. Based on your picture, you appear to have less volume of your left cheek and bony orbit. Volume augmentation with filler or your own fat can improve asymmetries. As long as you don't expect perfect symmetry, just improvement, you...
As we age, we tend to lose volume in the face in a predictable manner (And areas of the face). However, you may notice increased"puffiness" of your lower eyes as well. The two are separate processes but both need to be addressed. Volume addition (via fillers or fat) can help the cheek area....
This sounds like congenital ptosis with decreased levator function ie. decreased function of the eyelid lifting muscle. There are several ways to treat this and lift the eyelid depending on what the function of the muscle is. You may be a candidate for a levator resection procedure...
Myopia is usually caused due to the increased diameter of the eyeball. That is, the eye is usually bigger than normal. Since your left eye is more myopic, then it is larger than the right. Usually 3 diopters equals about a 1 mm difference.Looking at the photo, it does seem that the difference is...
