Male liposuction for mons pubis or pubic lift?

Thank you for your question. Without a photo, or an in person consult, it is difficult to tell you what the correct surgical plan would be. You should ask your surgeon their reasoning behind a mons pubis lift instead of lipo. They may have a reason they feel that would leave you with laxity in that area. You could also seek a consult with a second board certified plastic surgeon and see if they agree on your surgical plan. Or you could ask to proceed with lipo knowing that if there is laxity after the procedure that you would need an additional procedure to address that. Good luck.

bertram1978.    Photos or physical examination would be helpful, but starting out with just liposuction alone is an option, as long as you understand there is a possibility that redundant skin may need to be excised down the road. Your plastic surgeon may see the need now and for that reason is recommending a combination of liposuction and skin excision. Request further explanation for recommendations. Best of luck.

Its difficult to give you a good answer without photos but something else to consider is liposuction with a skin tightening procedure like Bodytite. The radiofrequency tightens skin and may be an alternative to a pubic lift. I did a case like this last week and so far so good.

Without a photo it is hard to give you the correct advice.  However, if you prefer not to have a tummy tuck scar, then your option is to have liposuction of the pubic area.  As you say, with good compression and plenty of rest, the swelling will reside nicely and you may have good skin retraction.  This is a surgery I regularly perform in conjunction with phalloplasty.  If you are left with some redundant skin after the liposuction, then you could consider a lift procedure in the future.  Best of luck!

Thanks for your question. You could always start by trying liposuction and giving it a solid 6 months to respond in terms of skin tightening. If you are unhappy with those results, you'd need to consider a surgical procedure to remove the excess skin. Best wishes
