Thank you for your question. Without a photo, or an in person consult, it is difficult to tell you what the correct surgical plan would be. You should ask your surgeon their reasoning behind a mons pubis lift instead of lipo. They may have a reason they feel that would leave you with laxity in that area. You could also seek a consult with a second board certified plastic surgeon and see if they agree on your surgical plan. Or you could ask to proceed with lipo knowing that if there is laxity after the procedure that you would need an additional procedure to address that. Good luck.
