Will a rib cage tattoo affect the appearance of a tummy tuck?

Definitely the skin on the upper abdomen is pulled down and your tattoo will migrate a bit lower in comparison to it current position.I can only imagine the tattoo will still looking great and will not affect negatively the appearance of your abdomen.Be encouraged.Dr. Cardenas

Tattoos will sometime interfere with or be affected by surgery.  With a tummy tuck, the skin is stretched most centrally and the least laterally near the hips.  So, if your tattoo is on your side, it should be minimally affected.  However, your surgeon should be able to give you a better idea how your tattoo will change with your surgery.  This is definitely an issue that needs to be discussed prior to surgery.  If you are unwilling to accept your tattoo changing or part of it being removed, you should reconsider the procedure.  When a part of a tattoo is removed with surgery, you can always have that part tattooed again.  But make sure you have a good picture of it to show you tattoo artist following the surgery.  Hope this helps!
