How long does it take to see results after having platelet rich plasma injections on face

Results with PRP alone tend to be minimal for volume loss. At our office we encourage to do a combination of PRP injections plus dermal fillers. We have seen dramatic results using them together. However, PRP alone works very well for undereye hollowness or dark circles. Results are typically seen immediately with continued improvement as the initial swelling goes down. Collagen remodeling occurs for 4-12 weeks after the PRP has been injected. Patients will need maintenance treatments at six months to one year depending on the severity of the hollowness/dark circles.  

We typically start seeing significant results within 1–2 weeks of beginning PRP injection therapy and usually see peak results within 2 months of completing it. That said, there are a few varying factors that can affect this. The primary factors include the depth and type of scarring, the concentration of PRP used (This varies from clinic to clinic), any supplemental treatments performed to maximize results, and the number of treatment sessions/injections administered. Generally, we recommend 3 sessions over a 10 week period and a maintenance treatment every 6 months–1 year after that. It’s also helpful to know that some patients respond differently, and it’s possible to start seeing results, or experience full results, a few weeks later or earlier than the average. I usually tell my patients to expect to see results, that will continually get better, within 3-4 weeks. 
I also don't know how many treatments you have done, but depending on the severity of the scarring I start with 3. I also combine the use of PRP with Morpheus8 a Radio-Frequency Micro-Needling. By combining it with Morpheus8 I have seen quicker results, with improvements appearing at 2 weeks. 
This combination has proven to work marvelously for scarring. 
I would recommend finding a Doctor who offers a combination of both for the best results!

Thank you for your message! Results from PRP injections vary from patient to patient and often depend on a number of factors. In generally we give an interval of about 3-4 weeks to start seeing results, though the body may continue to boost collagen beyond that point. Generally, no matter what outcome you are looking for, multiple treatments are needed, especially when it comes to deeper scarring. I would recommend a consultation with a provider in your area for further information! 

Beckenham, 08 Thank you for your question. The length of time to see results of PRP depends on a number of factors. For a simple tightening of good quality skin with fine lines, the results will be apparent after 3-4 weeks combining micro needling with PRP, as collagen remodeling occurs. If it is for deep acne scarring, the results may take longer and require multiple treatments with micro needling for best results. Injection of PRP alone achieves the best results when used under the eyes and in areas that have many fine lines and superficial wrinkles like around the lips (smoker's lines). Your age, underlying medical conditions, the experience of your physician among other factors determines the effectiveness and length of time to obtain visible results. I hope this helps. By itself PRP has in my opinion very little benefits on scar revision. I think the DELIVERY of PRP coupled with the growth factors and cytokines of this treatment is synergistic. The delivery of PRP should be targeted to where the scar is. e.g.. if acne scar what depth? What timing of delivery? Delivery system?  Concentration of PRP? Usually the positive effects are seen at 4 weeks- the first week is purely swelling this settles and the scaring would seem to be unchanged however given the correct depth, delivery and concentration of PRP, collagen starts remodelling after a month.
