Is there much difference in 25cc, 50cc and 75cc?

If you only need a 25cc difference in the implant size, you really don't have much asymmetry at all and possibly should just choose to 'keep your existing asymmetry' and go with the same implants both sides...Realising that your assymetry will be *apparently* less....eg, at the moment you have 75cc of natural breast tissue right and 100cc on left 25% difference between the sides. You then get 400cc implants both sides. You now have 475cc of breast volume on the left and 500 on the right 5% difference between the sides, which is far less noticeable.
If you have greater than 25cc difference, then yes, different sized implants may help. However, they may just give you a 'different' asymmetry, because now you have one wider and one narrower implant. I think most surgeons who do a fair bit of more complicated augmentation would tell you 'we'll pick the implant size for the small breast preop, and decide the implant size for the larger breast intraop with sizers.' It's not very precise guessing, even using 3D imaging, preop....as you can tell from the differing advice you've been given.

If you have a significant size discrepancy between your breasts using different volumes makes sense. It is important to remember that regardless of implant brand a gel implant will have a different base width or projection to make up for the volume difference thus you trade one problems (volume) for another (difference in projection or base width). To put things in perspective a tablespoon is about 30cc.

Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Hello, thanks for your question5cc is roughly equivalent to 1 teaspoon of fluid so the difference between 25cc, 50cc and 75cc is minimal. It is difficult for me to tell if the difference in the suggested implant sizes would help to reduce any appearance of asymmetry without seeing you in person to know what degree of asymmetry you may have.If you are feeling uncertain about your implant choices then it would be worth having a further sizing appointment where you will be able to to discuss your concerns. It may also be worth asking if it is possible for you to have 3D sizing where you will be able to visually see how the implant sizes would look on your body. In regards to implants, my preference is the use of Motiva implants but as i recommend to all patients, take the time to research into the different types so you feel you are making a more informed decision. Wishing you all the best with any future surgery
