Aged 46, very fat face and worse since I had pdo thread lift a year ago. Really bad double chin. What are your thoughts on the best procedure for me to have a slimmer, youthful face?

Answer: A few options Hello EmilyOMG, Thanks for sharing photos and your question! It is hard to tell by some of the photographs, but I do agree that you have a full face (which in some ways does help provide youthful volume!). There are areas that tend to be stubborn and resistant to weight loss and exercise, such as the double chin area. There are several options for you ranging from minimally invasive all the way up to surgery. Just to name a few: Kybella - would not recommend, very painful, costly, leads to lots of bruising and swelling and suboptimal results. Plus it often needs to be repeated several times before achieving anything worthwhile. Submental liposuction - one of my favorite procedures to help eliminate that stubborn fat pad under the chin. Depending on your skin quality, this can be performed in isolation or with a skin tightening procedure (such as facetite). Takes about 30 minutes in the office, can be done under local and will get you a nice result without a lot of downtime. Deep neck lift - this involves an incisions made in the crease under the chin to allow access to the fat of the neck and deeper structures that can be tailored and contour to give you a better defined jawline. The downtime is typically 1-2 weeks and the results are truly phenomenal. Longest lasting of the procedures discussed. Face and neck lift - depending on your goals, this could be an option for addressing both the double chin and neck area, as well as the lower and midface. I used an extended release deep plane approach which allows me to reposition the cheek fat to a more youthful position. This is truly the gold standard for facial and neck rejuvenation. Reverses aging by about 10-20 years and lasts forever! Downtime is about 3 weeks and the final results really start to shine by about 3 months! Hope this was helpful! Good luck with your decision and stay safe! Dr. Dominick GadaletaFacial Plastic SurgeonPalo Alto, CA

Answer: Facelift options Faces are not all alike. The surgical procedures can vary depending on what the anatomy is. In general heavier faces with loose skin need a full facelift and possibly browlift surgery in order to keep the face in balance. In my world the facelift procedure includes fixing the neck, which can include the removal of fat and tightening the muscles.
