From 30AA to 360CC round. What cup size would I achieve?

Online, I cannot tell exactly what 360 cc would do for you. As far as sizing in my practice, this is how we do it:1) My philosophy includes guiding patients to explore reasonable options for breast implant size, usually two to three similar sizes, which allows the patient to visualize how different volumes affect their breast cup. 2) The best guide for a final breast implant size recommendation is derived using measurements from the patient’s own breasts and chest. 3) When measurements are considered then options for sizes can be presented. 4) I use the Mentor Volume Sizing System of breast sizers to demonstrate how these different volumes will look on a patient’s body. 5) This methods offers good reliability and is simple to use, but is not perfect.Best, Dr. ALDO.

Hi Cialms,I think your are on the right track. Our average size over the last 7,000 implants was 350. So your choice of a 360 is right in the ballpark.  This is perhaps the hardest decision for a patient to make, as well as the surgeon. Cup size estimates can be misleading, but I generally advise patients that they will experience an increase of approximately one cup size per 200 cc. You can try on implants in the office by placing them into a special bra.Approximately 50 cc (1-2 oz.) is added to the final volume to account for flattening of the implant in the partial sub-muscular pocket. Once you decide on a size you like, then add on about 25-50 cc, because in real life the implant will be flattened slightly by your tissues.Multiple measurements need to be taken to fit an implant to your exact anatomy. Have your surgeon's office show you the charts of the implant dimensions for the various profiles of silicone and saline from the manufacturer. Then you and your surgeon can piece together the puzzle by matching your measurements, with your wishes, versus your tissue cover and the available implants to arrive at a surgical plan.Keep in mind larger implants tend to have more problems over the years.Since silicone implants wrinkle less than saline implants, they might be your best bet.You can also approximate this at home by measuring out an equivalent amount of rice placed into a cutoff foot of old panty-hose, and put this in your bra.Wear this around the house for a while, and see what you think.Implant size must square with assessments of tissue cover, breast diameter, and chest wall width. Multiple measurements of your chest wall are taken (seven in total). Implant size selection has been an issue of much discussion. Therefore, I use a wide variety of methods, but the implant size is always established preoperatively.Also, patients are advised to bring reference photos demonstrating their ideal size and shape. A photo album of patient pictures is maintained to assist them. These photos ultimately help in determining where the implants will be placed, since they can be shifted inside (to provide more cleavage), to the outside, up or superiorly, and down or inferiorly during surgery. In determining the final size selection, I always place the highest priority on the preoperative measurements and potential tissue cover. Size is a critical question for many women who choose breast augmentation. The key is to work with a Board Certified plastic surgeon with expertise and experience in breast augmentation. There is an ideal size for your body type. The common denominator to the most beautiful breasts is that they were sized objectively on the basis of measurements. We combine a proven formula based on measurements of the rests and chest along with through discussions of patient's desires. Photos of ideal breasts and results from patients with similar breasts are often very helpful in the discussion. 

Despite a good description of your goals, exact recommendations for implant size require an in person consultation with a surgeon. A consultation will allow your surgeon to obtain measurements and have a thorough discussion with you regarding your goals. You'll be able to try on sizers to get an approximate goal implant volume. Your doctor will work with you to select an implant. Without seeing you in person, online recommendations for implant size typically are not that helpful for you.

The cup size achieved with a certain implant volume will vary in each person, because their own breast tissue volume and shape has an impact as well.  You would likely have better success finding a good implant size by trying on sizers, looking before and after photos, or 3D images.

Thank you for your question. Assessing before and after photos can be helpful in choosing a size. Just remember that everyone is built differently and starts with different proportions. A size my look different on you opposed to someone else. Best, 

I encopurage my patients to work with sizers and pick the look they like and then go and find a bra that fits.  Cup sizes are difficult because all manufacturers are different.  Take some sizers to a bra store and try on some bras with the sizers to get an idea of where you are going.

Unfortunately cup size changes with each bra manufacturer. As a result I try not to talk about cup size. I like patients to appreciate the volume change in clothing. We use a trail sizer system that approximates the appearance of the breast with implants. Bra sizing varies between manufacturers, and even between styles by the same manufacturer.  I suggest you find a bra that you want to fill out and bring it to your plastic surgeon's office to try on sizer implants.  

There are a myriad of other factors besides just implant volume that go into making the final size. It takes an exam to evaluate all these and recommend what implant size will help you meet your goal.
