This is not a normal boxcar scar. I would use a combination of subcision, fillers, and scar revision to help this scar improve. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Not an easy fix, nor an answer. I personally would perform TCA CROSS 80%- 2-3 sessions, raise the scar. I use a needle technique rather than toothpick in this case. Once raised you have a few options- INFINI RF- expect 50% improvement, or TLR erbium (Sciton or similar), expect 50-70% improvement. This is a difficult case. Done a few, photos will be up shortly. You were correct to mention US and MRI/CT as the next steps in the process. I would also repeat the cultures to ascertain if an infection was missed. Please keep us posted. The scars can eventually be treated with lasers. Best, Dr. Green
It depends on whether your subcision procedure is fairly mild or more intense, but in general the bruising from it lasts only a few days. Getting it done friday and expecting to look 100% normal on monday is possible, but if you have significant scarring they may still be some light bruising...
It is best to not be smoking if you have subcision since you will heal more quickly and stimulate more collagen. Botox can be done at any time with regards to smoking.
