Am I a potential candidate for subcision? (Photo)

Question

I have some scars (mostly rolling and a few boxcar) on both checks. 1 is fairly deeper while most are moderate. I've previously done 3 sessions of fractional laser treatment with negligible result. A few questions: How many sessions does it usually take to get noticeable, lasting improvement (even after fillers disapppear)? How do fillers last? How long is the procedure and is there any downtime? Typical cost per session (w/ filler) I'mean looking for doctors in the LA area. Thanks!!

This type of scarring needs more than subcision alone, it needs lasers or RF treatments, fillers and a series of treatments. I suggest you see an acne scarring expert who specializes in lasers and fillers.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Bacoas.  The dermal filler we use (Restylane or Perlane) typically lasts 6-9 months in acne scars.  The goal though is to create a longer term benefit (lift) to the scars over a series of treatments.  For your situation, it looks like 1 CC would be enough and you would expect that to be in the $500 - $700 range in Los Angeles.
