I'm 19 and I have a receding jaw, so I've been thinking of getting genioplasty. I had brackets to fix my bite (idk if its important) but I think I have chin ptosis and I'm worried that this surgery would make that issue worse. Also I feel like I have chin fat, would genioplasty fix that or would I need an independent surgery for that? Is it a very extreme and problematic surgery??

You do have a small chin, a condition called microgenia. This can corrected in 4 different ways: Using HA fillers , using fat, using an implant or with osseous genioplasty (where the bone is cut and advanced). Choosing the right treatment depends on many variables and factors that you should discuss with your plastic surgeon. Hope that was helpful.

Based on your pictures you appear to be a good candidate for the sliding genioplasty though the entire body of your mandible is small compared to your maxillary. Most likely you’ll have a dental overbite occlusion as well.The perfect treatment would be advancing your mandible behind your teeth through a jaw advancement but that is something most people don’t feel like going through.
