Was otoplasty successful or do I have telephone ear? (photo)

Great question, thank you!  Swelling in the ears after surgery can take several weeks to months to fully resolve.  I would recommend waiting at least 6 months before you consider revising it.  If you are unhappy with your results in 6 months I would return to your surgeon and have a discussion with him/her about what he/she would recommend. 3 weeks is still a bit early to determine what the ultimate result will be. If you have residual asymmetry or prominence after 3-6 months, you can discuss the possibility of a revision with your surgeon. Ear reconstructions are challenging.  No 2 ears are perfectly symmetric.  You will need to weigh the risks and benefits of the performing a revision vs. leaving it alone and accepting the residual prominence if present.  Be honest with your surgeon and express all your concerns.
