Yes, the new position will be either at, or just below the tattoo. A breast lift/reduction will be very helpful in reshaping, lifting and proportion. I would not hesitate to proceed as I think it will meet your expectations.

I ideal placement of the nipple is in the middle of each breast, roughly at level of the mid-point of arm, about 18-22 cm from the sternal notch, and about at the level or just above the natural fold under the breast. I take into consideration all of the parameters previously mentioned as well as the patient's desires and anatomy. In your case, yes, it would be close to where your tattoo is now.

Normal nipple position is above the level of the inframammary fold. How far above the inframammary fold varies between 2 cm to 6 cm, depending on various factors.`Care should be taken when marking for the new nipple/areolar location, as, if the nipple/areola is positioned too high, it will be visible out the top of bras and bathing suits and it is very difficult to move it lower. Have a detailed consultation with your plastic surgeon about where your nipple should be placed for maximal aesthetic improvement.

Hi! There are many ways of estimating the location of your new NAC (nipple-areola complex) after a breast lift. One simple way of doing so, is locating the middle of your humerus, which is the middle of your arm. In your case, it would actually be approximately at the location of your tattoo. In your case, with my BRALIFT (Breast Reconstruction with Anatomical Lift) technique, we reposition the nipple in the central area and rotate the breast tissue, so that the breast has an elevated, anatomical and natural shape, giving it a better projection to the cleavage. To find your new nipple position, draw a line from your mid clavicle to your current nipple position. Draw a second horizontal line from your breast fold across your breast. Where the two lines meet, this is your likely new nipple position. This would be slightly lower than the tattoo.
