Nipple position (Breast lift) What would be my new nipple position after a breast lift? Maybe at the same place where it's located my tattoo?

Generally, nipple is placed at the level of the breast fold during a lift.

Also this is approximately mid arm height.

In your case, it may be close to the tattoo, not quite as high.

An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to confirm this as well as discuss your options and expectations.

Your photo is limited because the phone and hand cover much of the breast, so the exact relationship between the tattoo and the planned nipple position cannot be judged accurately. In a breast lift, the new nipple-areola position is not chosen by the tattoo; it is marked while you are standing, based on breast fold level, breast width, skin excess, and the center of the reshaped breast mound.

Often the nipple ends up near the most projecting part of the breast and roughly around the level of the inframammary fold when projected onto the front of the breast, but exact placement varies. If the tattoo lies close to the ideal areola location, it may be partly inside the new areola, partly removed, shifted, or distorted depending on the lift pattern. Ask your surgeon to mark the expected nipple and scar position on your body before surgery so you can see how it relates to the tattoo.

I ideal placement of the nipple is in the middle of each breast, roughly at level of the mid-point of arm, about 18-22 cm from the sternal notch, and about at the level or just above the natural fold under the breast. I take into consideration all of the parameters previously mentioned as well as the patient's desires and anatomy. In your case, yes, it would be close to where your tattoo is now.

Normal nipple position is above the level of the inframammary fold.  How far above the inframammary fold varies between 2 cm to 6 cm, depending on various factors.`Care should be taken when marking for the new nipple/areolar location, as, if the nipple/areola is positioned too high, it will be visible out the top of bras and bathing suits and it is very difficult to move it lower.  Have a detailed consultation with your plastic surgeon about where your nipple should be placed for maximal aesthetic improvement.

Hi @Intelligent94043, thank you for your question. It is possible to reposition and improve breast shape with minimal scarring by slightly elevating the base and improving the overall proportion. In your case, with my BRALIFT (Breast Reconstruction with Anatomical Lift) technique, we reposition the nipple in the central area and rotate the breast tissue, so that the breast has an elevated, anatomical and natural shape, giving it a better projection to the cleavage.
