I had breast implant removal with a mini lift and fat transfer over a year ago. Ever since my surgery I have a fat/ bulge that hangs out over my bra and swimwear. I can still wear my same bikin top prior to surgery it was not like this before. I am 5’8 around 125 pounds. I removed my implants to make me feel better about myself now I feel worse.
Answer: Bulge after implant removal I would love to help you with your question. Please post photographs of your breasts with and without your bikini top to help me understand the problem better.

Answer: Bulge Hello and thank you for your question. It is hard to say for certainty without photos, but if the bulge is on your "side boob" area near your armpit, liposuction can commonly help contour these areas. My best advice is to have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with an in person exam to devise a plan to improve your concerns! Thank you and good luck on your journey.

Answer: Unwanted Bulge After Implant Removal and Fat Transfer It’s completely understandable to feel frustrated when results don’t align with your expectations, especially after undergoing surgery to feel better about your appearance. The bulge you’re describing can sometimes appear after implant removal and fat transfer due to changes in tissue distribution, skin laxity, or even the positioning of transferred fat. Even subtle shifts in body composition or surgical adjustments can lead to noticeable bulges in areas previously unaffected, such as around the bra or swimwear line. Common reasons include: • Fat Transfer Positioning: Sometimes fat may settle differently from how it was intended or expected. • Skin and Tissue Laxity: Removing implants can cause previously stretched skin to sag or redistribute unevenly. • Residual Scar Tissue: Internal scarring can cause localized irregularities or bulges. Addressing this typically involves options like: • Targeted Liposuction: Carefully performed liposuction to remove small, unwanted fat pockets. • Skin-Tightening Treatments: Radiofrequency or minimally invasive tightening procedures. • Revision Surgery: Minor surgical revisions to smooth out or re-contour affected areas. A detailed in-person evaluation with a surgeon experienced in post-explant revisions would help identify the most suitable approach for achieving a smoother, more natural appearance. I hope this provides clarity on possible next steps. Consulting with your surgeon or seeking a second opinion would be beneficial to find a tailored solution. — Güray Yeşiladalı, MD

Answer: Unhappy breast results It is difficult to give you an answer without a full exam and before and after pictures to review. It could be the fat that was injected or some redundant skin. The best option is for you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: Bulging after explant Fabulous9098, it is not uncommon that my patients, especially ones with Breast Implant Illness, gain weight in their breasts and surrounding tissues over time. It is entirely possible that this area of concern may be amenable to liposuction of the lateral chest wall tissues. Sometimes, this may also require excision of some skin in cases where the original lift was not aggressive enough at removing skin.
