6 months post-op and left breast is oblong, areolas are deformed, and tummy tuck sides are odd looking - advice? (photos)

A period of time must be allowed during recovery to see how the body heals and how the results manifest. 6-9 months postoperatively is not unreasonable, Without knowing the details of the surgery and what procedures exactly you underwent, as you mention, it appears that your areolae remain large, your breasts have some amount of sagging and you have some small dog ears on your tummy tuck sides. Rest assured, these can all be corrected. If your plastic surgeon is not providing you with adequate support during your waiting period, you may want to seek another opinion and see another plastic surgeon who specializes in body contouring who can address your concerns. I wish you well.

From your photos it does appear you would benefit from some revision. Your implants have not dropped and the lift you had was conservative. At minimum the areola can be reduced and the implant released into the pocket. You have small dog ears at the end of your tummy tuck incision that can typically be addressed as a small office procedure with local anesthetic. You do want to wait until you are 9 months or more from surgery to allow your body to fully heal.

I agree with your assessment that your outcome is less than ideal and that revision surgery is indicated.

I think you should look at your own results and ask yourself if the person who did the procedure should be the one to do the revision?

There’s a fairly wide spectrum of talent regardless of years of training and board certification in plastic surgery.

Personally I’m not a big fan of the Bonelli or Ariola breast lift. it tends to look a bit like what you have. It was also insufficient. Consider converting this to a lollipop or traditional formal breast lift to improve the contour and areola shape and size.

Your abdominal incision has dog ears and is uneven.

In the end your surgeon is responsible for the outcome and you are responsible for choosing that surgeon.

It’s a free world end nothing is stopping you from getting a formal second opinion.

Went choosing plastic surgeons I recommend all patients have multiple in person consultations at which time you should ask surgeons to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. Seeing a few sample pictures of the best outcomes of their career is insufficient to understand what average results look like.

Talented, experienced and confident surgeons should have no difficulty showing you a full spectrum of outcomes including good and bad and be happy to show you their entire collection of pictures to get an idea of how many of these procedures they performed and what average results look like.

I also recommend patients read all reviews on various physician review websites and avoid providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews.

The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than an abundance of positive reviews.
