Why isn't nitropaste prescribed for everyone? What are the pros and cons of it?

If nitropaste promotes blood flow for especially the belly button and nipples after a tummy tuck and breast surgery then why isnt is always prescribed post op?

Thank you for your question. While topical nitropaste is useful for increasing bloodflow to the skin by dilating the vessels, it certainly is not used routinely. It is only used when the surgeon is concerned for ischemia of the tissues. It has the potential adverse effect of headache and lowering blood pressure. Hope this helps.

I have personally never used this as part of a mommy makeover convalescence.. Nitroglycerin paste enhances local blood supply to the skin onto which it's applied. I'm not sure there is a downside although a headache is possible.An allergy to the product would be a remote possibility.

Thank you for your question.  Nitropaste can help heal threatened tissues after surgery by promoting dilation of the blood vessels and improving blood flow.  As with all medications the benefits must outweigh the risks, which can include headaches, nausea, and a significant drop in blood pressure, and as a result it is not routinely prescribed if there is no concern for tissue loss.  Hope this helps.
