Would any doctor be willing to perform liposuction to someone on warfarin?

Thank you for your question regarding liposuction and your past medical history. In similar situations that I've handled, I require patients with certain medical conditions to undergo Pre Admissions Testing (PAT) to ensure that it is safe for the patient to proceed with the procedure. This usually includes blood work and an EKG. In some instances, I will ask for a surgery clearance letter from the physician that manages your care. To be sure, see two or more experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have liposuction. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

NO! Liposuction is essential a de gloving of fat from the tissue causing bleeding. If on a severe blood thinner , ie warfarin, you would bleed uncontrollably. Most likely needing blood transfusions. In other words you are NOT a surgical liposuction candidate. Pease discuss with your hematologist first.
