Would any doctor be willing to perform liposuction to someone on warfarin?

Thank you for your question regarding liposuction and your past medical history. In similar situations that I've handled, I require patients with certain medical conditions to undergo Pre Admissions Testing (PAT) to ensure that it is safe for the patient to proceed with the procedure. This usually includes blood work and an EKG. In some instances, I will ask for a surgery clearance letter from the physician that manages your care. To be sure, see two or more experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have liposuction. NO! Liposuction is essential a de gloving of fat from the tissue causing bleeding. If on a severe blood thinner , ie warfarin, you would bleed uncontrollably. Most likely needing blood transfusions. In other words you are NOT a surgical liposuction candidate. Pease discuss with your hematologist first.

Based on what you’ve written it doesn’t sound like you are a particularly good candidate for Liposuction. Obesity is best managed through weight loss and that is better done by modifying the amount of food you eat rather than exercise though exercise is generally a good idea and promotes overall good physical and mental health.
Secondary Liposuction typically doesn’t deliver much more than I was achieved during the first procedure. it’s possible you may be a good candidate but you didn’t include pictures so we can’t really tell. For sure you’ll need clearance from your cardiologist and you’ll need to temporary come off Coumadin.
