1 yr post op from submusular implants + donut lift. Started out with asymmetry & constricted lower pole (before pics attached). I still have some asymmetry & now they seem snoopy? My surgeon was hesitant to lower my fold on the higher breast due to the risk of bottming out. Im considering seeking revision & wanting to get some other opinions on what's going on with me.

Answer: Breast Asymmetry Without examining you, it is difficult to give you a precise diagnosis. There is definite asymmetry which is present in all woman. The left implant is higher either due to capsular contracture or original placement. Releasing scar tissue on the higher breast will help lower the implant and achieve better symmetry. I would consult with your surgeon to discuss your options.

Answer: Donuts Don't Lift Just reading your text without the accompanying photos I knew you got the wrong operation. Donut/circumareolar/Benelli lifts don't lift the breast and barely lift the nipple areolar complex. That procedure is reserved for a breast shape that most patients would simply get no lift at all: a small and deflated breast with a *slightly* low nipple areolar complex that is NOT tethered by a lack of inframammary skin. Asymmetric breasts, larger breasts, and constricted breasts (yes, I know, there is plenty of plastic surgery literature written about its use with tubular or constricted breasts) are not ideal candidates for that procedure. You'll need a formal breast lift to give you what you want, an attractive breast mound and nipple position on the mound.
