Answer: Surgery risk Dear Hollyfit1, every surgery carries a risk of potential complications. Breast augmentation is a straight forward procedure with a low risk of complications. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Breast implant risk All surgical procedures come with some degree of risk, but if you are healthy, don't smoke, and have your procedure with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon you can keep your risk as low as possible. For optimal results I typically place implants through through the areola or via the inframammary fold. This gives a better visual for correct placement of the implant among other benefits. It's difficult to compare risk of an augmentation to a breast lift as they are not the same procedure. I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss the procedures and your concerns.

Answer: Breast augmentation Gummy bear implants, also known as cohesive silicone gel implants, are a popular choice for breast augmentation. The most common sites for the incisions are in the crease underneath the breast, around the bottom edge of the areola and through the armpit (axilla). However, not all plastic surgeons offer these approaches, so you'll need to discuss your options with a qualified plastic surgeon who has experience with these techniques. The risks associated with breast augmentation surgery are similar, regardless of the type of implant or incision site. Some of the potential risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, asymmetry, changes in nipple sensation, implant rupture or leakage, capsular contracture (the development of scar tissue around the implant), and the need for revision surgery. The worst-case scenario with breast augmentation surgery is a rare but serious complication called breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). This is a type of cancer that can develop in the scar tissue surrounding the breast implant. The risk of developing BIA-ALCL is low, but it's important to be aware of this potential complication and discuss it with your surgeon. It's essential to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who has experience with breast augmentation surgery and gummy bear implants. They can help you determine the best approach for your individual needs and goals and discuss the potential risks and benefits of each option. They can also help you understand the recovery process and what to expect after surgery. I hope this helps, best of luck !
