Hi there, I would like to “shorten” my chin or face and have my jawline / underchin tightened. I attached pictures below. What would be the best procuredure for me ? Buccal fat? Lower neck lift? Can I do it in Twilight/ half awake? I am afraid of anesthesia. Thank you
Answer: Anterior neck lift better definition for the neck Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. When contemplating this type of change, I have found that patients benefit greatly from 3D imaging and computer simulation. These tools help clarify expectations, dispel misrepresentations about the targets, and provide an overview of the potential changes with a good correlation to treatment outcomes in this area. From the photographs, I notice a moderate amount of fullness under the chin, which appears to be hereditary. As far as I can tell, there is no significant skin laxity. An anterior neck lift procedure could be a suitable approach to address this: • This procedure reduces volume predominantly in the layers deep to the platysmal muscles, including deeper fatty tissue, the digastric muscles, and the lower part of the submandibular glands. • It involves an incision under the chin and allows for a more defined contour of the jawline and better neck definition. Using 3D simulation, you can examine the shape of your face with volume reduction under the chin and along the jawline. This may reveal that the current chin shape and proportions become adequate without additional intervention.

Answer: With a lower neck lift help to shorten my chin It's very difficult to tell from the limited photographs, but it appears that your fat deposits are located above the platysma muscle in your neck. If that's the case, liposuction can accomplish removal of that fat compartment. A platysma-plasty significantly improve your jawline. If you're fat deposits are located below the platysma muscle, and neck lift procedure is going to be required under general anesthesia.
