Hard lumps appeared 1 year after lower face and neck lift - what could be causing this? (photos)

Im 12 months post opp. I had a neck lift and lower face lift. I suffered complications hymatoma etc.. But in the last 4 weeks I have developed 2 hard lumps that seem to be getting bigger. Could I have some opinions please?

It is important to discuss this matter directly with your surgeon, as assessments based on photographs can be less accurate than those made by someone familiar with the details of the surgical procedure.

The appearance of the swelling may correspond to areas where tensioning was carried out during the surgery. If non-absorbable suture material was used—something that is relatively common—there could be a reaction around the sutures. In such cases, removing the suture material may help resolve the issue.

I recommend discussing this possibility with your surgeon. If you want further clarity on the cause of the swelling, a soft tissue ultrasound could provide valuable information. Modern soft tissue ultrasounds have high resolution and can help identify:
	•	Suture material
	•	Collections of fluid
	•	Scar tissue
	•	Other potential causes in the area of concern

Hello. Sometimes such hard masses may form after hematoma. Accidentally taking too much fat tissue may also be a problem. Talk to your doctor, he can give you a steroid injection or if there are masses, he can remove them through a small incision.

These findings are atypical and uncommon and should be investigated by your operating Surgeon.  This may relate to suture material used at the time of surgery, but it's very hard to speculate.
