I had chin lipo under local anesthesia in late March. It clearly made a huge difference which I'm happy about, but the fact that I still have a double chin and lack of jawline definition bothers me. I wore my garments religiously, 24/7 for a week, and slept in it every night for about 2 more weeks after that. I have lost about 20 lbs since the surgery and I got jawline filler. Is this a typical result? Should more fat have been removed?
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Chin Lipo Results From the looks of your before and after photos you have nice result. There can be a fine line between removing too much or too little of fat from under the chin. A good plastic surgeon does his or her best to remove enough fat to have a satisfying result but not too much to leave the skin deflated. It can be a challenging judgement call during the procedure especially in overweight patients. With all that said, you should have a thorough follow-up with your surgeon and discuss your concerns as mentioned above. It's possible that a second session of liposuction may be beneficial in removing additional fat from underneath the chin or where ever you think there may be excess fat still present.

Answer: Still have a double chin after liposuction More information is needed, such as a full set of postoperative facial and neck photographs after your 20 pound weight loss to see if you're still a candidate for any further surgery. It's also important to understand that there are two compartments of fat in the neck, and they're located both above and below the platysma muscle. Liposuction alone can only accomplish removal of the fat deposits above the muscle, while a surgical neck lift is required to remove fat deposits below the muscle, which also includes a platysma-plasty.
