Looking for a doctors opinion! I got a chin implant last year, and it's definitely helped with some facial harmony (I had the SHYEST of chin before). I am still hating my profile from certain angles though, and it's mainly because of my upper neck/chin area. How do I fix this? Note: If I'm "mewing" you don't see it, but when candid/smiling -- it's very noticeable.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. The concern regarding your upper neck contours seems to be related to volume situated deep to the platysma muscles, which has hereditary characteristics. This volume is generally a mixture of the digastric muscles, the lower part of the submandibular glands, and a small amount of central fat tissue.

Because you do not have any skin excess, it is possible to use an anterior neck lift intervention to address the subplatysma volume excess. This procedure is carried out through an incision placed under the chin. However, if you had a silicone chin implant, the incision used to insert it is likely too small to perform the neck lift through the same access point.
