Will a chin implant improve the strange shape of my jaw? (Photos)

Question

I have included a recent photo that was taken which shows the severe asymmetry around my chin/jaw. The shape of the lower part of my face has always bothered me, and no matter what i cannot seem to improve the way that it looks naturally. My main concern is on the right side where my jaw appears to have jowls. For reference, I am a healthy under-average bmi and have been at much lower weights and still had this appearance. I attached an edited photo showing my ideal jawline/chin

Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment.

For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. We use this and/or other injectable fillers like Voluma, BellaFill, and Sculptra- these are injected into the areas of concern to improve the overall appearance of the lower face, give better definition to the jawline, and provide overall balance and harmony to the jaw, and the rest of the face. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline (and rest of the face).

I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles.

Hello ! Thank you for your question to be honest you don't need a chin implant if you do we have to use a very small implant we can use filler for the asymmetry on the face, I think it will be much more effective

Thank you for your question and photos. Though it is difficult to determine if you would benefit from a chin implant without a side profile view, chin implants can improve the appearance of the chin and jawline. A chin that appears too small compared to the other facial features can make the jawline appear weaker and amplify sagging skin in this area. 
With a properly sized, custom-fit chin implant, the facial features can be brought into balance to achieve the desired result. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your concerns and suggest the best approach to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

A side profile photo would best best to help determine if a chin implant would help improve the shape/definition of your jaw.

You may want to consider a genioplasty. This procedure would allow us to move your chin and elongate your jawline, which in turn would also tighten the skin around the jowls. Jawline contouring may also added to the genioplasty, to further sculpt your chin and jawline into the shape you desire. A genioplasty is more versatile than a chin implant, which would not necessarily improve the jawline issues.
