My double chin quickly becomes apparent when I look down, so I've been getting quotes for chin lipo with Facetite. I also wanted to fix my 'genetic jowls' as much as possible to get a more straight-lined face shape from head-on. One surgeon of many said I would benefit most from a chin implant, but I've always thought my chin was pretty prominent. I'm curious what other surgeons suggest from the photos? Thank you!
Answer: Based on your photos, I do not believe you need a chin implant. You appear to have a well projected chin appearance, and a chin implant would only masculinize the lower 1/3 of your face, in my opinion. Neck liposuction surgery is a minimally invasive, and reasonable option for reducing the appearance of a double chin, and for improving a jawline appearance. Procedures may be performed with local anesthetic, and normal social activity is typically resumed one week after surgery. Thank you for this question, and I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Anterior neck lift Thank you for your question and sharing your photographs. As far as the characteristics of the neck, it looks like the most significant problem is the volume of the digastric muscles, with a slight contribution laterally from the submandibular glands. As such, to control the situation which seems to be related to deeper structures rather than superficial fat under the chin, an anterior neck lift tends to be the most relevant at it allows to reduce bothe the digastric muscles and the submandibular glands. For the control of the jawline, through the access of the anterior neck lift, it is possible to do also a small amount of liposuction to the jowl region. However, in your situation, it seems that it's the buccal fat that has the most significant contribution to the volume in the jowl region, and a buccal fat reduction may be the most effective method to address it. You can check the shape along the jawline and the mobility of the buccal fat by lying down and examining your features in a mirror. I suspect that the contour in the lower face will look fine and there will be more volume in the malar region and front of the cheek from the buccal fat moving up. Finally, another way to address the contour along the jawline is the endoscopic facelift intervention which has a relatively strong purchase on the tissues in the jaw region. It does also have a significant impact on the neck contour, but not if there is volume excess from the digastric muscles.

Answer: Chin implant or chin lipo with FaceTite? Hi. The anterior projection of your chin, on side view, seems to be sufficient from the photos. However, when seen from the front, there is a definite lack of volume that extends towards the body of the mandible. IMHO you would benefit from a chin implant that would not overly increase your frontal projection but would give you a better mandibular line as the body of the mandible approaches the chin. Today, the options for chin implants is vast. Picking the correct one will be key in achieving aesthetic results. I am not a proponent of Facetite, Ultherapy or other modalities for non -surgical skin tightening unless they are combined with surgery. The results are minimal at best without surgery. A neck/chin liposuction would be beneficial. Good luck, Doc PG

Answer: Lower face and neck lift You would benefit lower face and neck lift. The chin implant may be of some value. Some views of the chin appear the chin is good from the front but laterally you may benefit from the wings of the chin implant to give more definition laterally. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Chin implant and liposuction and facetite I think that you are a candidate for all 3 procedures performed at the same time. In addition, I would recommend lower facial liposuction to reduce the prominence of the jowl area,
