I am 54 yrs old. I do not have many facial wrinkles, thankfully, but I do have sagging skin. Am I a good candidate for a lower facelift?
Answer: 54, sagging skin. Am I a candidate for a lower facelift? Deep plane? Thank you for your question and photos. yYou do show some asymmetry in the frontal view, with the right side being somewhat larger. In the lateral view, just forward of the lateral corner of the lids, you have soft tissue falling forward and down. These are the areas addressed by a deep plane facelift, and in the neck will tighten the platysmal bands. A SMAS lift, which is the tight tissue under the skin laterally, will not address your concerns of midface laxity and sag. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in all aspects of facial rejuvenation. Good luck.

Answer: Facelift candidacy Although your skin texture is very nice, your face is exhibiting signs of aging: deflation of the midface, prominent nasolabial folds, downturned corners of the mouth, marionette lines with jowling, and neck muscle bands (platysma muscle). A face and neck lift with fat grafting would rejuvenate your face nicely. The technique that would be best would be the chosen surgeon's preferred technique. I prefer a composite technique that has gained the misnomer 'deep plane' facelift.
