I havr breasts that have sagged with age. My doctor believes i might have ehlers danos. I am a 38 yo woman without children, hoping to have children within the next couple of years. My boobs bother me so much. I don’t mind if they were smaller, as I am relatively small, I just want them not to sag. Would a breast lift give me the results I’m looking for? How long do the scars show for? Whats the healing process like?

Based on your photos, a breast lift is the procedure most directly aimed at what is bothering you: nipple position, lower-pole skin looseness, and the breast sitting lower on the chest. If you are comfortable being the same size or slightly smaller, a lift alone may be enough. During a lift, the breast tissue can be reshaped and the nipple-areola complex moved higher; a small reduction can also be combined if needed.

An implant is usually added when someone wants more volume, especially upper-pole fullness, not simply to correct sagging. If your priority is “not sagging” rather than being larger, it is reasonable to discuss a lift-only plan with your surgeon.

The possible Ehlers-Danlos issue is important. Connective-tissue laxity can increase the risk of widened scars, slower wound healing, recurrent stretching, and less durable lift results. It does not automatically mean you cannot have surgery, but it does mean you should be evaluated carefully, ideally with a surgeon who is comfortable operating on patients with hypermobility or connective-tissue disorders.

Scars from a breast lift are permanent, but they usually fade gradually. They are often pink or red for several months and continue maturing over 12 to 18 months. Some patients make very fine scars; others, especially with skin-quality or connective-tissue issues, may form wider or thicker scars.

Recovery varies, but many patients return to desk-type work in about 1 to 2 weeks, avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for about 4 to 6 weeks, and wear a supportive bra while swelling settles. If you are planning pregnancy soon, keep in mind that pregnancy and breastfeeding can stretch the skin again and change the result, so timing is worth discussing carefully before surgery.
