What went wrong with my lower facelift and neck lift/chin implant? What can I do to fix it?

On 6/14/19 I had a lower lift, neck lift, co2 laser of upper & lower eyes, & chin augmentation w/implant. I am getting married in Sept. and just wanted to look refreshed and like a younger version of myself. I think I now look much older around the eyes and gaunt, and just want my old face back. Would removing my chin implant return my smile to pre -surgery? Great projection from the side but hate it from the front when I smile. Is it too big? What would you recommend?

It is too early to determine your final results after all these procedures. Swelling is very common and could last for 6 weeks and beyond. The CO2 laser around the eyelids should give you a great look with tightening of the skin and the horizontal projection provided by the chin implant should give you good facial balance. I would give it more time.

Dear Jeanla, You are still early in the recovery phase and will see some changes as the swelling dissipates. I personally would not have chosen these particular procedures for a freshen up...I do not think you were really a candidate for facelift/necklift surgery and I would have opted for an endoscopic browlift with midface suspension and submental liposuction with chin augmentation. The browlift is a procedure where I undermine down below the malar region and lift the muscle, skin and tissue back to its pre-aging position providing a very natural looking result with no tell tale signs of surgery as the small incisions are hidden in the hairline. This is a very nice freshen up and has minimal downtime and is a great choice for patients like yourself who are beginning to feel they look a bit tired but do not have a lot of skin laxity in the lower face and neck. With that said, you do seem to have a nice facelift result and your profile is improved with the chin augmentation however I do see your concerns with the front view looking masculine. This can be swelling that will resolve or it can be the type of implant used. As the swelling dissipates and the tissues begin to relax you should start feeling and looking more like yourself. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon as he/she knows best where you are in the recovery phase and what techniques were used during your surgery.
