3 weeks post op. How long till my gummy implants fluff? I got 455CC Moderate Plus gummy sientra textured round implants.

I'm wondering how long does it take for them to fluff out? They have gotten considerably smaller. I'm hoping they will get bigger/ "fluff". My dr said they won't drop anymore due to being gummy and textured. I'm not worried about dropping. I want to know typically how long does it take for gummy implants to fluff? I know my dr said it can take up to 1yr for it to heal but I'm most concerned about them getting bigger?

Forget about fluffing. Your doctor is correct in that textured cohesive implants are not expected to drop, and they won't soften as much as other types of implants. Final result in terms of softness and feel will be several months. They will not get bigger.

A usually takes 3 to 6 months before you can see the final shape of the implant. In your situation, you may expect a change in shape which will change the overall appearance. It is unlikely they will actually appear larger, but you need to wait and see. It may be helpful at the three month mark to sit down with your plastic surgeon and discuss your overall satisfaction.

Still trying to understand the concept of "fluffing" (sounds like "relaxing"), but if that's what that means, will definitely take several months for early scarring to relax and edema (swelling) to go down; just be sure to keep in touch with your surgeon.

Thank you for posting your question. It is quite normal to be concerned about the final result after having breast augmentation. Assuming your implants were placed under the muscle, it can take weeks up to 3 months for swelling to subside, muscles to relax, and the implants to pop out. Within the first couple to few weeks post-surgery the breasts typically take on a boxy look and appear small. Be patient and follow all of your surgeon's instructions so you reach the end goal of having perky shapely breasts.

Dear ghong89,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 3 weeks  post op.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Thank you for your question. Give it at least upwards of 12 weeks before considering to change sizes. Patients often experience swelling that can make it seem like your implants are larger than expected. As your body continues to heal you can see the final appearance of your breasts around 3 - 6 months, upwards of 1 year. If you are still not happy with your size follow up with your board certified surgeon to address your concern. Good luck!
