Thank you for your question. Cup size can be a funny thing. It's mostly based on projection. It can also depend on how much breast tissue you had to begin with. There used to be standardization, but that went away. It can depend on what style of bra you wear. You are still early in your post operative course. They usually will get to their final position in 6 to 12 months. One will usually drop faster than the other, and the shape may go through various changes. Please follow your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon's post op instructions. For example; we like message, but some surgeons will have you wait, or do it in a specific manner. Please let them know your thoughts and concerns. Jeffrey J. Roth, M.D., F.A.C.S.Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLas Vegas Plastic Surgery
Congratulations on your surgery. This is a tough question to answer. Cup size after an implant is placed is dependent on the amt of breast tissue you start with. With that being said I would recommend speaking with your surgeon to help determine your ending cup size. Best of luck to you during your recovery process.
Cup size has very little to do with the volume of your implants. There are many other variables. Cup size can usually be measured a few weeks after breast augmentation.
Thank you for your question. It can take upwards of 12 weeks to see the final size once your implants begin to settle and drop into place inside the pocket. It can be difficult to determine cup size because every patient's measurements are different and they way your body hold the implant will determine your final outcome. Follow up with your board certified plastic surgeon to address any questions or concerns. Good luck!
ReportThe Sientra OPUS breast implant is in my mind the best implant available on the market. The new 20 year $5000 rupture warranty (effective 5/1/2018) is the best available from any manufacturer. Some patients prefer a round look with more cleavage, other women prefer a softer upper breast. I have found that CRISALIX 3-D imaging gives our patients a virtual reality preview of their appearance with the implant brand shape and style/size they choose. Most of my patients tell me that their result was even better than what the CRISALIX image suggested it would be. It takes up to 6 weeks to reach the 90% point after implant placement for swelling to diminish and the breast to round out and assume their long term shape. So I recommend my patients wait till then to get sized at Victoria's Secret. Keep in mind that bra cup size is not standardized by the manufacturers. VS bras tend to run smaller- so their "C cup" is like a Walmart "B cup". Not sure why they do it that way but I believe it's because VS wants smaller breasted women to feel better about themselves...who knows?! Anyhow, I never guarantee a cup size with a certain volume implant, but I do guarantee that whatever size implant a breast augmentation patient and I agree upon using is the implant I will place. What cup size results from the implant shape and volume you have chosen is not very well determinable in advance!Hope you love your results!
That's always the million dollar question but there is no exact correlation of implant size to final cup size, it depends on your size beforehand. It is best to be measured by your plastic surgeon after your swelling goes down to determine your final cup size.
There is no standardization for cup size, therefore the cup size will be different for each bra manufacturer even though all of those bras would fit. That's why during the consultation, I go through a sizing process, as the reason for the surgery is the visual appearance, not a specific cup size.Sincerely,Thomas C. You are correct. The 107 has a slightly stiffer feeling gel similar to that which is placed in their shaped textured implants. In patients with a fair amount of overlying breast tissue, it's difficult to feel the difference. Hope that's helpful.
Definitely contact your PS to make sure all is okay, but I can tell you that it is common for one implant to sit higher in the early post op period. Implants drop at different rates. One may drop right away and the other may take longer. Textured implants do not move as much as smooth ones so ...
Sientra anatomic implants contain highly cohesive (gummy bear) silicone gel. This gel is form-stable so that it resists shape change in order to maintain that teardrop shape. If cut in half, it will maintain its shape as two separate halves rather than spilling out like older sil...
The rupture rates between Allergan and Sientra breast implants are almost identical in the first 10 years. It's like comparing a BMW to an Audi. Hope that's helpful.
Hello and thank you for your question. You have a concern that may women share — whether their choice of implant will reduce or increase rippling and wrinkling. First of all, any implant will have some degree of rippling and wrinkling. This phenomenon occurs from the...
Hello and thank you for your question. Honestly, a formal in-person evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are several reasons for this: 1) Bra sizes vary based on the clothing store (for example, Victoria's Secret tends to upsize everyone by a whole cup size) 2) Most...
