Does transplanted hair grow slower mid scalp than hairline?

I had almost 3,000 FUE grafts from a world class surgeon. It is almost 7 months post op. Only front and mid scalp transplanted. Graft placement looks very natural. I am happy with hairline growth but growth mid scalp is not great. How much growth can I expect here on?

It can take 6 to 12 months after surgery to see results.  Location of where the hairs were transplanted should not matter.

Hair grows at different speeds and so your mid scalp should experience hair growth in the coming months to eventually make pace with the other areas of your scalp. There is a latency period between the time of new graft placement and onset of growth. This latency period varies from one area of the scalp to the other. Typically the frontal areas starting with the hairlines and temple point would typically come in ahead of the rest. The crown tends to lag behind all the other regions. Unfortunately this phenomenon has not been objectively studied in detail to allow for exact numbers in latency timeline differences. But a range of approximately 3-6 months between the fastest growing areas and the slowst growing area is typical.

This would really depend on the graft placement that you have had, the percentage of double and triple grafts that was obtained with your procedure, and your preexisting hair condition and density.

When the grafts grow, the grow in cycles, more in some areas and less in other areas, Eventually the slower areas catch up. At 8 months you should see 80% of the growth and at 11 months 95% of the growth. Be patient.
