The region between my upper lash line and crease has very thick/ full eyelid skin. When I pinch it with a tweezer there is a lot of excess. I also have loose skin above my eyelid crease but that can easily be fixed by blepharoplasty. Are there any solutions for the excess skin below the crease? Thanks
Answer: Solutions, yes absolutely. What you are looking for is a very precise upper eyelid surgery that I call microblepharoplasty. This is an anchor blepharoplasty. A small amount of skin and underlying muscle is removed below the upper eyelid crease. Generally the upper extent of the excision is the actual crease. Additionally the levator aponeurosis of the palpebrae superiors muscle responsible for raising the upper eyelid is also exposed. The skin and muscle of the upper eyelid platform is carefully excised to allow the these tissues to just stretch up to the levator aponeurosis. This snugs the eyelid platform skin and muscle like one might snug a bed sheet. This maneuver also support the upper eyelid lashes. While the anchor blepharoplasty is well described in the literature, I am one of the few surgeons practicing this procedure on a regular basis. You are welcome to study the subtle upper eyelid results in my photo galleries on my website that do precisely what you are asking for.

Answer: What's the best solution for thick and prominent upper eyelid skin? (Photo) Thank you for your question. From the images that you have provided you have a very youthful upper eyelids. A crisp clean upper eyelid fold and no clear indication of excess skin. With your eyes open it is normal to have a degree of excess skin in order to be able to close your eyes. Fullness in the upper eyelid is a very youthful sign and you should be cautious in seeking surgical treatment at your stage. You have very aesthetically pleasing upper eyelids and should enjoy them while you can. Best of luck!RegardsDr Guy Watts

Answer: Blepharoplasty Questions Dear Serena4now, I would suggest a consultation to determine if you are indeed a candidate for any eyelid surgery at this time. Your photographs do not show a lot of ptosis or excess skin. Your brow placement looks natural with no need for elevation. A consultation with an expert in this field will help determine candidacy. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
