Is there a big difference between 285cc moderate plus and 300cc high profiles?

I got 285cc moderate plus 75% unders because I was scared they would be too big. Now I'm regretting not going with the 300cc high profiles. What would the difference have been??!

The 15 cc size difference wouldn't even be noticeable.  285 cc implants are indeed on the conservative side.  If you want to go larger think about it for a while, but unless you go at least 50 cc's larger on each side, you won't notice much change.

The high profile one would project more and have a more narrow base.  Discuss your concerns with your PS. You can always change sizes in the future.

Hello!  Thank you for your question!   The size difference in volume is negligible. However, there may be an appreciable difference between the two for your overall result.  A high profile implant will be more narrow at its base width as well as have greater projection than a moderate  or moderate plus implant of similar volume. Biodimensional planning should be employed during implant placement, which takes into account factors such as tissue laxity, pinch thickness of the overlying breast, and breast width - the last being most important. When employing these factors in breast augmentation, optimal results can be obtained since all of the confounding factors are accounted for.  Fitting the correct implant for the patient with breast width and need for projection to take up laxity is of utmost importance. Hope that this helps!  Best wishes!

The difference between the two implants is minimal. The volume difference of 15 cc is a few teaspoons, not enough for you or anyone else to appreciate a difference. The high profile implant would be MINIMALLY narrower and project (stick out) a tiny bit more. People have a tendency to second-guess themselves, but rest assured that your choice was as reasonable as the other option.

The difference between these two implants is almost imperceptible. You will not be able to tell the difference. In order to see a difference you would have to go up at least 100CC more than the 285cc that you put in.

Rest easy.  It would be hard to tell the difference between the two.  If there was a difference it would not show up in your clothing.  Normally, if a patient wants to looked noticeably different in their clothing it is necessary to increase the implant volume by at least 30%.

Great question!15cc equates to 1/2 of an ounce! It's really a small change that will be negligible. Do not beat yourself up!! It's not uncommon to wish you went bigger.  The good news is, it is a pretty easy operation with minimal recovery. I recommend you live with them for at least a year, go through all the season's, and if they still feel small then swap them out for bigger ones!    If and when you get to that point, I usually tell my patients they need to go up approximately 60cc to even notice a difference. Best of luck,Jennifer Harrington MD

Thank you for your question.  The following is based on the information you provided.1 ounce is approximately 30cc. Therefore you have approximately 1/2 ounce less than your orginal calculation. This difference is essentially negligible as it relates to your over breast and implant size.The  difference between a high profile and moderate profile implant of the exact same volume (cc's) is only the base width and the resultant projection. Again based on your information this would be negligible in your breast appearance.You can go "on line" and look up your  implant manufacturer and see the exact differences between the your implants and the implant you originally chose. Agin this difference in your case will be minimal.I suggest waiting for at least 9 months to 1 year to allow the implants to completely settle.   You can always remove and replace with a larger size. There are various ways to estimate the size increase. The easiest way is to so is just put the volume of rice in a nylon stocking and measure the volume in a measuring cup, convert to cc's and add to your current implant size. If your implant are under the muscle I usually recommend adding 10% more volume to compensate for the muscle compression that occurs. Removal and Replacements can often be done using just local anesthesia and oral sedation under sterile conditions.My best wishes,
