Liposuction of the thighs doesn't cause much swelling nor pain and is fairly easy to undergo under local and you can recover by yourself. Although it is nice to have someone pamper you whenever possible.
In general, it's not bad and you'll be fine without significant help. This is really dependent on how the lipo is performed. I perform this procedure awake with thorough numbing and tiny Sculpting tubes. This approach keeps you strong and healthy, provides excellent pain relief, and minimizes trauma, swelling, and bruising. Once the procedure is completed my patients are able to walk out on their own. Hope to see you soon. :) Instagram @justinyovinomd
Dear vavelar, every patient reacts differently on a surgery. Generally speaking, most patients have moderate pain after liposuction which usually lasts for a few days after the liposuction. Every plastic surgeon will recommend pain killers to reduce the pain level.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Pain and swelling can be variable for patients who have had liposuction. If necessary, this pain can be treated with anti-inflammatory medications and neurontin. Swelling can be improved with compression, lymphatic massage and hyperbaric oxygen. For best results with shaping the thighs, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Liposuction is generally not a very painful procedure after the first 48 hours. Recovery will vary based upon the amount of liposuctioned fat. The result will depend upon that amount as well as the skill with which it is removed to maintain a smooth contour. Some patients are back to work after 1 week, while some patients have pain for 2 weeks or so. Swelling and bruising normally resolves within two weeks, but swelling can last as long as six months. Every patient is different, and every surgery is different. There can be quite a bit of swelling and some discomfort. I use lidocaine in my mix of tumescent to reduce pain. The more tumescent that is used, the more early swelling is seen, but I think the results are better and the patients are also happier with less pain.Best wishes, Dr. Aldo
Hi; thanks for your question. While this is very technique-dependent, I tell my patients that they will have mild/moderate swelling and bruising and feel like they had a hard inner thigh workout after inner thigh liposuction. It is reasonable to have this procedure on a Friday and expect to be back at work on Monday, for example. I do advise all of my patients to have someone escort them home from their procedure, but they are comfortable enough to walk on their own without difficulty. Also, it is reasonable to do this procedure with local anesthesia alone, which makes for a faster, easier recovery.
Hello, thanks so much for your inquiry. Normally, after inner thigh liposuction the pain is moderated, like an after workout soreness, you will need to wear a garment in order to avoid swelling, although some it is normal and expected. Please make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page. Don't forget to discuss all your concerns, options and expectations thoroughly. Have a safe and pleasant PS Journey!Respectfully, Dr. Jaime Campos-Leon Board Certified Plastic SurgeonIG drcamposleon
The recovery from inner thigh liposuction should not be bad at all.We will not need anyone to take care of you. You'll be moderately store for one or two days after that the area will be tender if you push on it but not much more than that.Bruising and swelling often travels down with gravity and you can expect possible bruising even below your knees.Inner thigh liposuction has an OK reputation in regards to patient satisfaction. In general it's the upper 1/3 of the inner thighs that bothers most women. This is also an area where there's usually some skin laxity leaving liposuction with at times limited potential improvements.I do about 45 inner thigh liposuction cases per year.I perform approximately 300 total liposuction cases per year.My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures. It's a rare patients come back thrilled from inner thigh liposuction but many are satisfied with the results. This is also been the consensus among my colleagues. This is not to say it's not worthwhile doing but setting expectations correctly from the beginning is key to maintaining overall high patient satisfaction.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Typically patient will have pain or significant tenderness for the first couple of days. After that patient often describe the feeling is having overdone it in the gym when being out of shape.Having significant pain three weeks after the procedure is unusual.Patients receive postoperative...
Thank you for your question. Without being there are the procedure, or having an exam, or a picture to reference, it can be hard to give you specific advice. I would suggest you discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. He or she is the only one who can tell you exactly what happened, if...
No is the simple answer. There are no short cuts. Visceral fat can only be removed by generalised weight loss. If you are struggling with this then you need to seek expert advise (& not plastic surgery). You should discuss options with your GP & maybe consider seeing a bariatric surgeon. Go...
