How important is compression garment? Can it wait a week or few days after surgery?
Answer: Compression garments Great question. The supplies you need with liposuction should be provided by your surgeon. With that said, compression garment is extremely important. It will be placed on you at the end of surgery and you should continue to wear it as often as possible for the next month or more. My patients can take them off briefly here and there to shower or use the toilet, but it should be on as much as possible. The compression garment helps put pressure in the areas where liposuction was performed for several reasons. Most importantly it helps shape the areas of liposuction until it scars down. It also prevents fluid collection in the areas treated. Therefore for the best results, you need to wear the compression garments immediately after surgery and as much as possible for the next several weeks.Best of luck and hope this information helps!- Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai

Answer: Supplies After Surgey These are great questions. You will need to get some gauze and tape to cover the incision areas. You will want to cover your mattress with a shower curtain in case you leak out of the areas. Normally, your physician will give you a garment or a binder to wear after surgery. Best of luck !

Answer: What supplies are needed for after liposuction. Abdomen, flanks, back? The compression garment varies with the plastic surgeon. I provide my patients with adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection. The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment, not the brand or make. Wearing the compression garment correctly and snugly 24/7 for the first 4 to 6 weeks after surgery along with early recognition and draining of fluid collections can help prevent irregularities of liposuction. Answer: Post operative girdle compression garment I would custom order appropriate compression the exact sizes needed for patients. The fabric material is important as well as location of zipper. Lipo foam under garment is important in cases of possible creasing.

Answer: What supplies are needed after liposuction? Abdomen, flanks, back. Thank you for your question. This is a question you need to address to your prospective surgeon. I just answered a similar question about a TT. My philosophy and protocol is the following: my patients are placed into a compression garment in the operating room as soon as I finish the surgery. I often use drains, soft compression pads. The following morning, the pads are traded out for thick, foam pads in certain areas which I want to compress selectively to achieve the sculpted results I created. If you wait a week or two without a well fitting compression garment, you might be too swollen to put it on and the pain will prohibit you from doing so. Also, your body will accumulate free serous fluid and or tissue fluid. The longer this is in the tissues, the more inflammation, increased scarring and loss of shape.See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.
