I'm four weeks post op. I've been rinsing my nose twice every day with salt water (8 oz water and teaspoon salt, though I realized tonight I've been deviating with too much water) and then cleaning with hydrogen peroxide and applying Polysporin ointment. I also have dissolvable sutures in my nose that my doctor told me would go away over the course of 3 months. But I apparently have a strange odor that others have pointed out. No swelling, no redness, no pain, no fever, all normal. What is it?

Depending on how deviated the nasal bones were preoperatively and their tendency to want to shift, I recommend nasal exercises as needed. I would follow your surgeon's advice. I also recommend that these exercises be done in front of a mirror to ensure you are doing it correctly. Good luck to you!
There are many treatments for nausea and vomiting. In our practice we have found Emend to be far too expensive to use routinely. There are many alternatives such as a scopolamine patch, ondansetron and some medications that can be given through the IV during the time of surgery...
I understand your concerns, but at this time it is important that you allow for time to improve some of the issues you are having. I would hope that you trust your surgeon, and at this time you need to allow him to take care of you. The swelling will only improve, not worsen.
