My nose looked great when the cast came off. Will it look like that again? (Photo)

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only 2 weeks after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

The short answer is if your nose looked fine after the cast is that it will likely return to the same shape and form over time. You are right to have close follow-up since scar tissue could develop and should be treated aggressively.

If you noted a change since the cast was removed, then this is likely due to swelling that will improve over the next few months.  

We recently saw a severe allergic reaction to Elastoplast tape used on the neck after liposuction. The patient required prednisone and topical hydrocortisone for over three weeks. great question and one every one of us surgeons get. Every time we take a cast/tape off the nose usually the nose looks great for a  few hours and then BAM swelling. That swelling in almost all cases will go down. Every patient asks this and you are no different. The tip is ALWAYS the most swollen and it should be expected. Your picture demonstrates this. I've posted an article I wrote discussing some of these issues. Stay positive and patient. You will get your results if you follow your physicians directions. James P. I understand your concerns, but at this time it is important that you allow for time to improve some of the issues you are having.  I would hope that you trust your surgeon, and at this time you need to allow him to take care of you.  The swelling will only improve, not worsen.

GEEZ Only 2 weeks and with reaction swelling issues.... Allow healing for next 6 moths please.......
