Slight indentations on abdomen after lipo. I want symmetric indentations. Can liposculpture fix? More lipo?

You’ve heard this from other doctors, but I also want to chime in and urge you to be patient with your body. Liposculpture is a major procedure that takes a toll. You can expect to wait for about 6-9 months for the swelling to calm down completely. At that time, if you are still unhappy, consulting with a board-certified dermatologist will let you explore a number of options, including perhaps some noninvasive fat removal or tightening techniques, that would give you the smooth tummy you desire.  

Following liposuction surgery there is a. Of healing and this may go on for a number of months. It is not that uncommon between months to and three for some surface irregularities to show up. This is the reason why massage is indicated during this time. Often these start to settle out about 16 weeks following surgery. Massage often can help up to about six months after surgery. If contour irregularities are still present 10 or 12 months following your surgery, your surgeon will discuss with you the options of correction.  Sometimes repeat liposculpture is indicated although one cannot expect perfect results with this.

Thanks for the question, I see exactly what you are talking about. I would wait until 6 months because there can still be some scarring that settles at different times. My approach is to start with something simple at home like a fascia blaster to hopefully smooth it out. If that does not work I would offer surgery with liposhifting (breaking up scar) or adding sculptra (collagen stimulating) filler in office. We have options and your doc should not stop until you are happy!

It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. However, a VASER revision may be needed to improve the irregularities. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

The healing process could be from 4-6 months, depending on the patient. At the stage tou are in, inflammation is still normal. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up with your plastic surgeon.

The only way to get a smooth result is to have revision VASER to remove all of the fat and to tighten the skin with Cool Helium Plasma skin tightening. 

To reiterate what others have already told you, waiting a minimum of six months allows for a more accurate diagnosis of the factors causing the indentations.  Or, they could even resolve on their own with time.Should the indentations persist, a combination of liposuction and fat transfer will almost always solve the skin asymmetry. Good luck and best wishes.

Thank you for your photographs, narrative and question.Simple answer: Maybe, best to use noninvasive body contouring instead of revision liposculpture.There is moderate swelling after liposuction for 2-3 weeks, mild up to 6-8 weeks and the final result takes about 5-6 months. If you have irregularities now, early treatment is recommended to improve the outcome. Treatments include manual massage, lymphatic drainage which can be assisted with Endermologie and Vasershape (Quantashape), and radio frequency treatments (Venus legacy).Unfortunately, as the body swelling resolves, it may be easier to see the indentations, that are protected by the present swelling. If a persistent swelling exists, it may be due to an organized hematoma or scarring and low dose Kenalog injections may help improve the counter.Noninvasive devices are best first choice for irregularities. In more significant cases, using ultrasound (VASER) liposuction to assist in moving the liposuction cannulas through the previous operated soft tissue and performing micro-cannula liposuction can improve these areas.Best of luck to you.
