Thank you for your question about whether you would a good candidate for a mini-arm lift or a full or longitudinal arm lift. Based on your history and picture, I do not believe you would obtain an acceptable result with a mini-arm lift or crescent arm lift.  You have excess upper arm skin and fat that extends to your elbow.  The mini-arm lift or crescent arm lift does not pull or remove arm skin and fat from around the elbow.  The mini-arm lift concentrates on the upper one third of the arm.  You require a full or longitudinal arm lift. In plastic surgery, scars are a balance. The short scar armlift has very little applicability to most patients.  You would receive a better result with a more traditional armlift.

I doubt that after experiencing a 90 pound weight loss that a short scar technique can address all the loose skin which develops. However, only through a proper exam can that be determined. Be sure to see an experienced plastic surgeon.Warmest regards, Dr. Aldo

Very few patients are suitable for a short scar armlift via the axilla.  You would benefit from an full arm lift in order to achieve the best skin tightening and contouring. Liposuction performed on its own will simply leave you with defaulted and unsightly skin once the fat is removed. Arrange a consultation with a fully qualified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

Short scar or horizontal arm lift is only good for a very very small subgroup of patients with a small area of excess fat / skin. If you don't want large traditional scar, you might be a candidate for liposuction only. Sometimes despite your massive weight loss, your skin does contract. This is also a small subgroup of patients and only after examination we can roughly tell you if it is worth the try. 

Well done on such an achievement. However, such a dramatic weight loss will leave a significant amount of excess skin that a short scar procedure will not be appropriate. Also, it is best to do the surgery once you have been weight stable in your target weight for at least 6 months.

Hello and thank you for your question. The simple answer is NO. You need a longitudinal incision to obtain a good result. Unfortunately a short scar arm lift is only reasonable in a few indicated patients.  Those who have laxity within  the first quarter of the upper arm adjacent the axilla.Get a few consultations before making  your decision.Peter Fisher M.D
