I am 3 weeks out from an extended thigh lift with Mo. I first saw his work via instagram back in 2020 when I was researching surgeons to begin my skin removal / body contouring journey. I was so impressed by the work he had done on many people, and spoke to a few who had multiple procedures with Mo. It took a few more years to bite the bullet to book a consultation, and he was the first surgeon I spoke to about the thigh lift. He had already done incredible thigh work on Holly and Ieesha who I found on instagram, and they spoke, rightly so, very highly of his work and his team. Immediately meeting Mo I felt comfortable in his presence and also with his knowledge & expertise especially with this area. He did tell me that the thighs were the “problem child” of cosmetic surgery, and after already having multiple surgeries myself, I was prepared for a not so smooth recovery. I left feeling content in that Mo could achieve the results that I desired, and booked surgery for 6 months later. The waiting list is definitely for a reason, and he is well worth it! I had pre ops with nurse Emily, who is the kindest loveliest caring person, and also extremely knowledgable. She filled me in with every detail I needed for pre and post op, and gave me a bag with items I needed for recovery including my compression garments. On the day of surgery I was first down.. The nurses got me ready and Mo came in to mark up, and also his anaesthetist who is also one of the loveliest ladies I’ve ever met!! (And thankyou for the wonderful cocktail of meds to send me to sleep…!) I woke up starving, lovely and warm and in no pain. I stayed overnight at the Welbeck, and was looked after well by the nurses. The next morning, Mo came to see me and I was sent home. I saw Emily a week after surgery at the clinic who was extremely happy with my recovery & wounds. I received daily calls to check in and see how I was doing. 10 days post op I did develop a reaction to the tape, which became itchy.. once it was removed the relief was immediate. I went in the next day for a check and was given some dressings to use to soothe which did the job. I unfortunately also developed a small Seroma, which was a first for me with all my surgeries- but not unexpected as I was briefed with the possibilities after a thigh lift.. Emily drained this in clinic and gave me antibiotics which cleared it up in a few days. My scars are paper cut thin, my skin texture and firmness have improved dramatically, and body contours are more visible now from removing the unwanted skin. I am so excited to get back to the gym when I am allowed and to build on the canvas that Mo has now given me. I would not hesitate to recommend Mo and his team at PSG to anyone..! I think I’m done with surgery now but should I need anymore as I age, I’ll be back..!!! Thankyou SO much!!!! D :)
Five stars don’t do Mo Akhavani justice! Magic Mo has totally changed my life following massive weight loss. From the first time we met he explained the different procedures available to me and instantly put me at ease. He spent time to get to know me and share results and set realistic expectations. He was so kind, considerate and knowledgeable. In total I had four different procedures; an arm lift, thigh lift, 360 body lift with FDL and breast uplift with implants. His work is sensational; I’m so happy with my results. I recovered really well every time and am now living my best life because of this wonderful man.
Mo is a genius. He isn't just a plastic surgeon he is a designer and sculptor of the human body. His work transcends just a physical transformation. He is transforming people's lives. Mo has given me my life back. How did I choose Mo: I spent years researching plastic surgeons and I can honestly say that Mo at The Plastic Surgery Group is truly the best. 344 surgeons on Real Self offer a abdominoplasty in the UK. Initially I read the reviews for every surgeon and if there were any adverse comments I deleted them off my list. This left me with 40 surgeons. Mo was number 1 on the list. He was the only surgeon whose 5 star reviews matched up across Google, Real Self, Doctify and Instagram. No one had a single negative word to say about Mo and I can understand why. He is the real deal. I then went through all 40 surgeons based purely on results and narrowed the list down to 11. Mo was still number 1 on the list. This was a huge decision for me and I had to know that I was selecting the best surgeon possible. I then arranged consultations with several of the surgeons on my list. The decision was then easy as I knew that Mo was definitely the top choice. The PSG guide you through the whole process with care and compassion. The aftercare offered is truly exceptional. Unfortunately I developed a complication (which is common for such a major surgery) on Christmas Day! I was truly mortified having to use the emergency numbers and to disturb the team however, they were all amazing. When they should have been enjoying their Christmas celebrations they were on the phone helping me throughout the day. Everyone at the PSG looked after me and held my hand whilst dealing with my complication. They went above and beyond. I can honestly never put into words the kindness and generosity that Mo and his team showed me. My result is genuinely incredible. My scar is pencil thin and in places has almost faded which I really didn't expect. Mo creates the best belly buttons. It honestly looks fantastic and absolutely natural. I will add before and after pictures once I've been on holiday because the results really speak for themselves. Mo and his team were also so helpful in recommending Helen Fox for the lymphatic drainage who is also absolutely fantastic. My entire experience with The Plastic Surgery Group has been exceptional. Mo is leading the way with his incredible talents and his team are phenomenal. I lost 170 pounds without weight loss surgery. Mo was the only person who I trusted to help with my transformation and he never let me down. Whilst I’ve tried to put into words my feelings towards Mo and his brilliant team no words will ever do them justice. I will forever be indebted to him and his team for giving me my life back. Thank you Mo, Lucy, Louise, Emily, Meg, Penny and Amy. I can not recommend them highly enough they are simply the best!
I would strongly recommend Mo to anyone who is considering any plastic surgery. Mr Akhavani has earned my trust from the minute I walked into his office. Overall, I had consultations with 4 surgeons but only with Dr Mo I felt this connection and I knew straight away he is the one! Consultation- Mo was so patient with all my questions, trying implants on and truly listened what breast I want to achieve. I trusted his recommendation about size and type of implant and I could not imagine a better result. Day of surgery (BA)– Mo welcomed me with a big hug, which helped me with a stress. Operation was so quick; he came and check on me 2 or 3 times before I was discharged. Follow up app – It was a pleasure to compare ‘before’ pictures and seeing amazing results. We both agreed that it exceeded our expectations. I am so pleased I paid a bit more but trusted my gut instinct as I know I chose the best surgeon in UK. 1.75cm/57kg, Breast width 12.5cm
Warning......Long review..... After looking into tummy tucks for over 6 years and doing extensive research for 2, I came across the Plastic Surgery Group. I had looked into a lot of surgeons, both abroad and close to my home in the North East of England but after speaking to a few patient coordinators and having a couple of consultations I didn't feel great about the decision to move ahead. It is by the off chance that a lady I follow on Instagram mentioned the PSG and Dr Mo Akhavani, she had had a breast augmentation with Dr Mo and said look into him and Dr Mr Dan Marsh as she couldn't fault them. I literally owe her my entire confidence and smile! From the initial email and phone call to my 6 week post op check I was treated with nothing but kindness and respect, they are some of the nicest, most professional people I've ever met. The moment I met Mo I knew, instantly, that he was my surgeon. I went in feeling sick with nerves, sweating and worried about my consultation but Mo was sooooooo charming and instantly put me at ease. He told me what he thought I would benefit from and managed my expectations completely. I booked immediately and it's the best decision I've made. To explain how amazing Dr Akhavani actually is, I was booked in for a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck, meaning vertical scar as well as hip to hip but mid operation Mo knew he could get my desired results without a FDL so he didn't go ahead, refunded me the difference and said if in the future I'm not happy, he will absolutely do the FDL. I am literally in awe of my surgeon. My results are beyond amazing, I couldn't have imagined I would be this happy. I am buying bikinis for the first time in my life at 38 and that is down to Mo.....they call him Magic Mo and now I know why!!!!! Oh and my breast reduction, uplift and fat transfer for fullness is absolutely amazing...... People think I have implants! Thank you Dr Mo to you, to your team, nurses and staff......you are all incredible. Do NOT hesitate.....if you want plastic surgery and can choose anywhere.....Go to The Plastic Surgery Group, London. They have changed my life for the better and will be forever grateful....love you guys.
I spent a couple of years researching and meeting lots of surgeons. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever meet a surgeon I felt comfortable with and then I met Dr Mo. He has a wonderful manner which puts you at ease and makes you feel comfortable to ask anything and as many questions as you like. He is informative, honest and realistic and takes you through all details of the operation. You never feel that any question is silly or annoying. I felt 100% confident in trusting Mo to carry out my surgery. Both Mo and the nurses respond to any questions/issues very quickly and are just the nicest team of health professionals. I am really happy with the result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mo and the Plastic Surgery group
Wow, where do I start. Dr Mo is the most wonderful surgeon ever. From start to finish he has been wonderful! From the consultation he listened to my goals and we had a very in-depth conversation that covered every question I had, he explained the whole process to me. The day of surgery he put my mind at ease and explained what he was going to do and double checked I was happy with everything. Following on from the operation Dr Mo checked in with me every day right up until I went back to see him a week later for my check up. Dr Mo is so approachable and even though I had my surgery a year ago I know he would always be on hand to help if I had a problem. A year later I am so happy with my results he has done a fantastic job and I recommend him to everyone! Going through surgery is a nerve wracking process but not with Dr Mo - you feel completely at ease from the minute you walk through the door. Dr Mo thank you very much!
Where do I start? The Plastic surgery group have been nothing but amazing from the moment I started looking into surgery. I was interested in an uplift, reduction and tummy tuck. I'd been following Dan Marsh and Mo Akhavani on Instagram for sometime and the only thing that put me off was the wait to get an appointment, but my theory was, if they're the best, then I'm happy to wait. Following my consultation I called daily and I finally got a cancellation for my surgery with Mo. Mo doesn't post quite as much on his grid as Dan so I was a little apprehensive at first with my TT. However, from the moment I met Mo he put me at ease and I knew I was in good hands. He's totally realistic and manages your expectation with your potential results. My actual results.... well they're simply incredible! I've gone from 34FF to a perfect 32DD, a size 14 to an 8/10 in clothes. I had a few little infections (which is totally normal, it is MAJOR surgery), but Emily (nurse) and Mo were always there at the end of the phone day/night and weekends! The aftercare is absolutely impeccable!!! My life has totally changed. I have confidence which I never imagined, I finally love myself. Magic Mo..... he is really isn't called that for nothing. I owe him so much. I'll forever be in his debt. Do not be put off by the wait, this was the biggest decision of my life, and if I'd of known the results I was going to get, I'd of waited 10 years!! I now have a lot of friends who went through the same surgery as me, not one of them received the aftercare nor results that I have. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Thank you so much x x x
I had spent my adult life dreaming about having a breast uplift - I had large, very droopy breasts which meant I struggled wearing the clothes I wanted to in my teen and adult life. It was really knocking my confidence. I booked a consultation with Mo after seeing someone else recommend The Plastic Surgery Group. I am telling you now - he is worth the wait. I am nearly three months post op and I am over the moon with my results. I still wanted large boobs and I can't believe the amount of lift he has achieved. He and his whole team and incredible professional. He put me at ease during the consultation (this was my first ever surgery) and did not rush me. He gave me plenty of time to talk through any concerns. I had a couple of small openings post-op (this can happen) and the nurses were so great at making sure my wounds were all dressed well. I was also impressed that they book one year follow up appointments too to ensure you are happy. My only wish is that I'd done it sooner. Thank you Mo!
I am at nine weeks post-op after breast augmentation, and my experience with Mr Akhavani was absolutely seamless. It was a big decision for me, and I have spent several years researching surgical technics, comparing different types of breast implants and looking for my surgeon. I believe I considered every practising plastic surgeon in London, went for a face to face consultation with 3 of them. I decided to go with Mo at the end as he stands out from the rest. He is personable, honest and made me feel at ease. Mo was flexible to accommodate my choice of breast implant brand even despite it's not the one he usually uses in his practice. I have a long term heart condition, and Mo was the only surgeon who took time to explain how having breast implants might impact it in future and even offered to discuss it with my cardiologist. My choice was obvious because I felt that I was in safe hands. My recovery was very smooth, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I had Motiva Ergonomics 300cc, dual plane. I am attaching photos before and four weeks post-op. I would highly recommend Mr Akhavani to anyone who is considering breast augmentation.
Having an all over itch 3 days post op is not normal. There could be a plethora of reasons, but most common at this stage is likely to be a reaction to your medication. Please contact your PS to discuss this.
As long as you are off all narcotic based analgesia , then it should be fine. Alcohol in moderation is fine 2 weeks post surgery given that you are off all meds. However, you should still be careful and wear your support bra as additional support.
The trouble with vaping is the nicotine content. Nicotine dcreases blood flow and can reduce the healing potential of a fresh scar. It is best to avoid all nicotine products 4 weeks before and after surgery. This is what I ask of my patients.
As a general rule it can take upto 12 months or even more for the swelling to go down, implants to drop into position and for breasts to feel softer. If you still have concerns, check in with your doctor who can examine you in person if needed.
Alcohol is best avoided until narcotic medications are no longer required.Your PS will have his own protocol for post-op analgesia. Be sure to consult your PS if you are feeling uncomfortable/in pain.
