Sculptra - can it be used prior to losing weight so the face doesn't sag?

Question

I'm thinking that Sculptra will help with keeping my face "up" when I lose weight because of the collagen prodution. Or would it only be beneficial after the weight loss? It's not saggy or wrinkly now but they say "fat don't crack" and I'm wondering.... I mean I'd have it now without the weight loss but not if it doesn't still work when i do. Thanks!

Losing weight will definitely result in a loss of fat volume in your face as well. If you look good now, then you might want to wait until after the weight loss has begun. Every person is unique and fat loss may not be equal in all parts of the face (just as we see in the body…some areas reduce faster than others). Therefore, losing some weight will reveal where early shadows and concavities are starting to form. You can add more Sculptra as you lose more and more weight. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to assess and rejuvenate your face with Sculptra, as it takes expertise to accomplish this well.

Hi Jackie.  Regardless of your weight, Sculptra is an excellent product to stimulate the production of your own collagen.  It will not replace fat lost if you lose weight, but it will replace the fat loss with collagen production.  We find Sculptra to be best for patients that are volume depleted.
