I did Lipo about 7 months ago, I love the results however I noticed that the ripples/wrinkles on my stomach still haven't gone away. The doctor said to massage it every day after the surgery which I have but what else can I do to get rid of those wrinkles I have on my stomach. I just want a flat smooth surface. Would cooling laser treatment work or what exactly would you recommend to get rid of these ripples? Thank you so much

Answer: Post Abdominal Liposuction Rippling...what to do? Hello there and thank you for the question,What type of liposuction did you have? Where were the access sites? One other conservative step you might take is endermologie which is a mechanical type of massage to the area. When there is both skin laxity and localized fat, there is not always as much skin tightening after liposuction as we might like. If the contour irregularity persists, your options are to do nothing or revise the area surgically/non surgically by additionally contouring the periumbical area. I don't believe that fat grafting to the area of rippling, in this case, will be helpful but it is an option to discuss with your surgeon. Office procedures (non surgical) to reduce fat in the periumbilical area include cool sculpt, smart lipo and any of the other less invasive procedures. My preference would be to 'level out the area' by reducing the fat volume in the adjacent mid abdomen and I would use tumescent liposuction.Good luck!In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD
