Is 1000 cc/1 liter a lot to take out for abdominal liposuction?

This depends very much on your individual circumstances, but I would consider a one liter fat removal from the abdomen alone as significant.  Of course, this is all relative and is hard to answer without a photo.  You will not notice a difference as much in your weight as you will in how your clothes fit.  

It really depends on your body shape and techniques used for body shaping. Keep in mind, you still have swelling which will resolve in 3-6 months, so it's too soon to tell what your final results will be. 1L is not much for the average overweight person, but could be alot for someone very thin. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Hello. The amount removed during liposuction is relative to each patient's body size. You are still in the immediate post-operative period, and you should expect a significant decrease in your swelling over the next few weeks with your final shape developing 3-6 months after surgery.  I recommend lymphatic massage to all of my patients beginning 2 weeks after surgery and continuing for 1 massage/week for 4 weeks to help resolve the swelling. Talk with your doctor about her/his post-operative protocol.

It's impossible to answer your question without knowing your specific situation. Some people carry more fat in theit abdomen than others. You may not have had any more than 1 L of fat in your abdomen. I would discuss your concerns with your surgeon. Good luck.Dr. Maz
