You should take a few days off breastfeeding just to ensure none of the anesthetics are in your milk. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. When discussing liposuction in the peri-natal/breast feeding period, the question is less the danger to the feeding child (most medication will clear in a few days) and rather the changes that your body is going through secondary to hormonal fluctuations. It is always best to exhibit restraint in the post-partum period. This is due to the fact that your body is changing dramatically during this period. The hormonal fluctuation can alter size and shape widely during the immediate post-partum period and can continue through the period of nursing. Body contouring during this period is the equivalent of hitting a moving target. The optimal candidate for liposuction has reached a healthy stable weight. In the setting of a recent pregnancy and delivery this stable weight can take some time to reach. A general rule of thumb is at least 6-9 months post-partum. If you choose to breast-feed through the first year of life you should allow at least three months following the discontinuation of breast-feeding before considering any procedures. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon.
Thank you for sharing your question and congratulations on your recent delivery. My recommendation would be to not pursue any type of surgical intervention for at least 6 months after delivery or three months after nursing, whichever is later. This will allow your skin time to shrink and return to its new "normal." Intervention now would be like trying to build the walls of a house when the foundation hasn't dried. Hope this helps.
It really depends on your body shape and techniques used for body shaping. Keep in mind, you still have swelling which will resolve in 3-6 months, so it's too soon to tell what your final results will be. 1L is not much for the average overweight person, but could be alot for someone very thin....
Thanks for your question. The answer is that everyone is different. Typically I recommend to my patients to start massaging 2 weeks after liposuction in the flanks. It is very typically to get some "hard spots" after liposuction which is basically "internal scar tissue" that has to "bre...
Liposuction can certainly alter the appearance of this area. This has to be done very carefully to avoid skin laxity or further asymmetry.
You have a very good early result from liposuction which will improve with time. I personally had liposuction a few years ago and had some areas that were sore and numb for 6 months. It wasn't anything that required medication or kept me from doing anything but I was aware I had surgery. The...
You most likely have swelling and firmness, which can be asymmetrical, and can last 3-6 months after your procedure. If you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your Doctor. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease ...
Liposuction is such a safe and great procedure. It can be done all across the back and helps flatten buffalo humps nicely.
